Nice
I just love these hour of history reads. This was really nice. Of course in school I studied some of Austen's work. Now in my late thirties after reading this I wish to go back, and possibly listen to it in audio as I remember Austen's works always had colourful characters. I looked on my book shelf and I have one of Austen's most famous works Pride and Prejudice which made me smile to see.I learned a fair bit about this British author, I had no idea she never married, was so poor, and the journey she went through to become a female published author through the 1700-1800, and her sad and untimely death. From reading it I have the feel Jane the woman was a pretty witty woman, with a sense of humour for a woman of her time, and certainly not one to 'conform' to what was expected of women in this era, she decided 'I'll be a writer' good for her!

Good refresher
I think this is a good overview of her life, but there is simply too much information to get into an hours reading. A good starting point for someone who knows next to nothing and would like to find out a bit.

What a fantastic way to learn about Jane.
As all the other "lives from beginning to end" this biography as been a great way to get acquainted with Jane Austen. Thank you for providing this possibility to those who have great interest but too little time. 😊
