Replica astrolabe, suitable as paperwight only.
This is a valid product category: small (width <18cm) brass replica Astrolabes. That said, this is the best of those I saw under $50. It is not suitable as an Astrolabe. The plates are not identified, but are a mixture of NH climate plates suitable for the latitudes close to the equator, with one 'plate of horizons' or unknown quality.. The plates are designed for a 100mm 'mater' cavity, but this one is 111mm. The plates need to be flat, preferably double sided, and able to retain their shape (so double the thickness). The 'rete' (star finder) is not suitable even as an education tool, as it is horizontally identical and could NOT identify stars. This is all fixable, and would NOT have increase the cost materials or effort to manufacture.
