richly layered with vocal harmonies, horns, dubbed-out effects, and jazzy/uplifting melodies (all of which revolve around a dynamic rhythm section), this has got to be one of my favorite albums. it's somewhere between the sound of steel pulse and black uhuru (pre-1985)...so strongly recommended if youre into either of them

This is a must for the true reggae hedz! Very Hard to find this cd anywhere! Also New Capter Dub is a must have!

This album takes me back to my youth and in my opinion is one of the best reggae albums ever performed by the best reggae band ever.I f you have never listened to Aswad before then buy this album the soothing lyrics and dub will blow you away.

"New Chapter" est le 4ème album d'Aswad, comme son titre semble l'indiquer il s'agit d'un renouveau pour le groupe qui signe avec une grosse maison de disques : Columbia/CBS. Ce disque confirme que le groupe a, à l'époque, un gros potentiel, il peut rivaliser avec Steel Pulse. La voix et le phrasé de Brinsley Forde, leadder du groupe, sont au top ! Le son est énorme ; les morceaux sont puissants sans baisse de régime d'un bout à l'autre. On retrouve une nouvelle version pour "Natural Progression" qui figurait sur le premier disque d'Aswad. Les tubes sont "African Children", "Ways Of The Lord", "Tuff We Tuff" ou "Love Fire". Le CD présente 4 morceaux en bonus par rapport à l'album original. Il s'agit des versions 12" avec leurs dubs dont un inédit le "Finger Gun Style" : fantastique ! La production de l'album est de belle qualité.Que dire d'autre ? Simplement que cet album doit rejoindre la collection de tout "Reggae Addict".

Gli ASWAD sono di un altro pianeta, se riuscite prendete anche la versione dub. Consigliatissimo.
