Animated Doorbell Eyeball

This Animated Halloween Doorbell from Sunstar is one of the coolest, spookiest decorations I've gotten in a long time!Even though it's made of plastic, it's thick and sturdy and well finished and looks great hanging on the door. It is painted black with gold antiquing accents on the side and a white crackle finish on the front. It's 7" tall so it's pretty substantial.On the front is a black orb and a black button underneath that says PUSH TO RING. When you push the button, the bell rings and the black orb opens to reveal a huge, bloodshot eyeball that glows fluorescent green and looks all around. A creepy voice says one of several different phrases followed by maniacal laughter and the sound of a creaky door opening. The phrases are "Welcome" and "Good Evening" and "Enter At Your Own Risk" and "You Rang?"Seriously, it's much cooler in person than in the pictures and looks fantastic mounted. Everyone who sees it has to ring the bell over and over.There is a mounting hole on the top back and it takes 3 AAA batteries (not included.) There are some weak, demo batteries that come installed, which I think is a nice touch because you definitely want to play with it right away.It comes in 3 colors, I think, but watch the price. The price varied wildly between the different colors when I bought it but they are identical except for the color.If you love Halloween, you will love this awesome doorbell.

I needed something that could work like an actual doorbell inside my three-season porch, so I would hear kids when they get to my door. The Gemmy doorbell is big, with a very obvious button to push and so will be very inviting for little fingers. The sounds are loud enough that I ought to be able to hear them sitting on my couch, inside the front door, but not so loud that they're obnoxious, and I like the glowing green eyeball, as well. I'm reeeeeallllly glad I bought this silly thing and can't wait to put it out next year.

This is cute. But, you can barely hear it inside the house when it’s hung by the door. Plus, even though I hung it right next to the door, at kid eye level, hardly any of the trick or treaters actually pressed the button. So, it was pretty much a flop. Plus the price is way too high, I saw similar doorbells in brick and mortar stores for way less.

It worked only when it wanted to, but when it did work, it worked great. Hoping my issue was just a fluke and everyone else's works with no problems. I do have to say that it's NOT cheaply made and I would have exchanged it, but since I ordered it just a few days before Halloween, I wouldn't have gotten the replacement in enough time.... so, I returned it. It has one mounting hole and would be more secure with two, but easily jimmy-riggable to fully secure.

I had this doorbell in my office until... my boyfriend saw it, pushed the button, became overjoyed with its effects and ran off with it. It's currently on our front door, bringing laughter and happiness to postal carriers. I'm pretty sure it's going to stay there long after Halloween is over.This is also a great gift for kids to hang on their bedroom door, especially if they have siblings that they want to keep out!

This was meant to be a quick gift for an opthomology student but everyone loves it and it went up at the clinic door. We'll have to get another next year
