Simple Mario-Themed Game That Kids Will Enjoy
We got this for our kids for Christmas because they love Mario, and it’s been a hit with them! There’s not much skill involved, but there are just enough choices to make it feel like you’re doing more than just spinning the wheel and seeing what happens. One thing to be aware of is the “gotcha” cards. They let you steal someone else’s star (which normally takes a few turns to earn), coins, or even make someone skip their turn. It can get frustrating, especially for younger players, but it does add some unpredictability to the game.Another thing to note is one of the “minigames” involves a thumb war. If the youngest player lands on it, they probably won’t stand a chance, so we made a home rule to even things out.Overall, it’s a fun and easy family game that captures the Mario vibe. If your kids love Mario, they’ll probably enjoy this one!

Perfect gift for kids
Such an adorable game and for for kids and the whole family. We also really enjoyed playing this on our game night! Can get difficult for our 4 year old but no problem to change things up for her or put her on a team. Nice twist to the regular Life

The whole family is enjoying this game
We have 3 generations playing this game and everyone has a good time. I think the name, The Game of Life, is misleading since it is hardly like the original. However, we don't care what it is called, we just have a good time playing it as a family.

Grandson loved this
My 11 yr old grandon is a Mario fan and loves board games. He had played the "original" life game that was at my house and loved it, so I thought this would be a prefect gift for his December birthday.

Great For Younger Kids
My whole family loves playing the Mario Party video game, so much so my 5 year old son wanted an “Elsa Against Mario” birthday party (cleverly renamed the Frozen Mushroom Kingdom party). So I wanted him to have a Frozen gift and a Mario gift. I saw this and hesitated. What if it’s bad quality, what if it’s hard to follow ... what if it’s just a stupid trash gimmick?? I got it anyway. Most of our board games get retired to the closet anyway.THIS GAME IS GREAT! It’s a board game version of Mario Party. You select your character, spin to move, and you can move up, move down, go left, go right, just like the video game. You follow several different paths until you reach a star icon (there are multiple star icons). You buy the star with coins you get while moving across the board. And theres cute mini games to win coins like thumb war, rock-paper-scissors, spinning numbers, etc. There are cards for companions (like when you pick up an additional character in the video game). The companion can award you coins if you land on a particular square, or steal coins if anyone rolls a certain number, etc. It’s so cleverly put together and my 5 year old follows it easily. To win, you “fight bowser,” which is a game of simple addition. The more stars and higher you roll, the more likely you are to beat Bowser and win the whole game. And you decide when you’re ready to fight. The game could take half an hour, or if you choose, it could go on all day.
