This latest version since poor reviews is great, reviews work. Me and my daughter love racing this M version (C1421M). She laughs as we collide and only she has mastered the full 360. The track will stay out throughout Christmas 🥳 I do think the cars are at their best with this set with full throttle available, in order for them to drift as advertised and skip the crossover plastic sections. The cars have great detail and I think the set provides more interest than racing alone, drifting them requires careful throttle timing to be consistently good at driving them. The track benefits from being set up on a firm surface rather than carpet to maintain good track connections.

Bought for my Grandson for Christmas. Assembled OK but the cars went round twice and stopped. After a lot of fiddling with the connectors it got going again but stopped after another few laps. As they are drift cars the tyres have no tread but the track seems oily so no grip. What a disappointed child. How can Hornby a reasonable quality manufacturer make such a shoddy toy. I had one many years ago and it was brilliant. The manufacturing quality is very very poor, wonder where they are made now, certainly not in Margate the home of Hornby. If I buy a faulty product I usually replace it but I fail to see that a replacement would be any better and the faults are by design. SHAME ON YOU HORNBY

Easy to assemble and sturdy provides hours of fun

I have had Scaletrix se when I was a child and loved it, so I got one for my son and for the fist 10 to 20 was brilliant. Then it’s been a nightmare ever since, constantly adjusting the car bush cleaning the track but never been able to enjoy it. It was not cheap so would expect it to be much better the 1 day of play.!Not sure this was a good buy might send it back….!

The media could not be loaded. Purchased on behalf of my 8 year old with his birthday money as he really liked the idea of the drift cars. Having had scalextric at a similar age I was interested to see how this compared. Out of the box track quality was good, sturdy and easy to set up. Out of the box one of the cars wouldn't work, it seemed to be underpowered and couldn't provide enough power to move. Gave it the benefit ordered a replacement set from Amazon that arrived the next day. Cut to two weeks later, after mild use one of the cars simply doesn't work with no obvious reason (unscrewed to check connections etc). Will now send back, have a feeling this is a drift specific issue so will try with a more traditional set of cars. A shame because it was fun when working an now have a grumpy 8 yo.

These cars are fun because you can spin round and go the other way.
