It's difficult to find compostable vacuum seal bags but I was so happy to find these. Despite some of the reviews I thought I'd give them a try anyways and they work great for what I need. Even though I can't compost them in my back yard I like knowing that the materials won't hold their form nearly forever like other types of plastic can.Make sure you have a vacuum sealer with a thin material setting because you don't need a lot of heat to seal these up. I experimented with matter sandwich bags too and those were way too thin but this material is a little thicker. I fold down the tops to fill them carefully propped up in a cylinder container. One time the side ripped when i folded it but it was only a little at the top so the sealing process closed it off. I wouldn't say I'm heavy handed with folding them but I'm also not gentle. It helps to fold them down far and then gently adjust the folds to open it up cleanly.As displayed in the photo it seals the plastic in a thin ish line. (Chili, Pasta, cooked chickpeas, vegan egg patty) The top left photo (chili) shows a newly sealed bag but the other three have been in the freezer for a few weeks holding up just fine.I did experiment with sealing all four sides because of other reviews about the sides popping open but it felt redundant and holes formed where the seals met. As long as you don't stuff them too full, toss in sharp materials, or try to pull them open, they seem to hold upI make a massive dish every Sunday and freeze most of it so I can rotate different foods and using these makes me feel less wasteful. I'm so glad I found these.

they are perfect sizes and great quality so much easier to already have pre made bags and just put your food in and seal then making a bag

Over all I like the bags because I value that that are compostable. My only complaint is that they easily get punctured. It is not uncommon for a bag to get a hole after I put them in the freezer. I discover it when I place the meat in the fridge to thaw and find a pool of blood under the package.I use regular vacuum seal bags for items that need extra protection or I know I will be giving to others.

I always thought it was my vacuum machine that was the problem sealing up bags. It was the BAGS the whole time! These bags instantly seal and cooking without toxic plastic is the BEST!! Will be a staple in my home now!!

When they work, they're great. However, I've had to reseal several items. They seal great and over a day or two lose their seal. I've not had this happen with non-environmentally friendly ones. It's unfortunate because we bought these to use in our farm stand to use more environmentally friendly packaging.

I bought these bags because I try to use as little non biodegradable plastic as possible. these seemed okay at first but I checked my stash the other day and half of the bags had somehow failed and completely filled with air again. not just a little bit, but completely to the point that I had to discard several pounds of foraged and dehydrated herbs and fungi that I tried to preserve.

Makes me feel better about using vac-seal bags for food saving. Good size for most individual servings.

Seals well and vacuums out air really well. I used these to sous vide some carrots and asparagus. Unfortunately the biodegradable claim is misleading, as any such product has to be processed properly in order for them to biodegrade. Simply throwing it in the trash or in recycling does not mean it will biodegrade.

I haven’t had great experiences with compostable ziplock bags so I was a bit sceptical of these.They’re excellent. I notice no difference in use between these and standard plastic seal bags.

The bags are very durable, but as some people reviewing have pointed out that they are not as durable as heavy duty plastic bags. Not a great idea to roll the top of the bag down. But for me, great, fine, i will work around it. It is the smallest of problems to have to reduce plastic waste.

Tüten haben Sollreissstellen, die ganz schnell aufreißen, auch durch Innendruck. 500 g himbeerpüree in der ganzen Küche verteilt. Ist mit den nicht kompostierbaren Tüten seit 10 Jahren nicht passiert
