Love the lights, the stands and the app could be better
I mainly use these when recording videos for my YouTube channels and I must say I love these lights but I have a couple dislikes too, what the actual lights their self but the stand and the app that controls them,The lights themselves are amazing but. first the desk stands issue, the stud on the top of the stand is made out of very soft aluminum and when you tighten the light onto the stand it gouges into the soft metal and metal flakes are going all over, I'll post a photo of the stand so you can see what I'm talking about. but most photography light stands that have a stud like this on top they're made out of very hard metal and this does not happen. The app that you can use to adjust these lights is pretty terrible,. it puts out a Wi-Fi signal and you actually have to disconnect from your Wi-Fi and connect to the lights Wi-Fi and the instructions to get the app to work are very very confusing but once you get connected it's pretty cool it just sucks having to disconnect from your Wi-Fi to connect to the lights Wi-Fi.Now let's go to the good,. These are beautiful, soft well defused, edge lit lights, with great CRI, if you're not familiar with CRI something with a rating of 95 plus will make your colors look wonderful in natural unlike cheap lights with lower CRI, and trust me it actually makes a huge difference. I use the 15 inch light for the key light and the10 inch one for the fill light. I've been using cheap ring lights for a few years now moved up to these and it's amazing how much nicer my videos footage and photos look once you get some good lighting in your studio.there was a great sale on these things so I bought one of them and I was so impressed I bought the second one but the desk stands should have a hard metal stud instead of a soft aluminum one,. not sure why they would design them like this.

Nice Soft, Diffused Light for Still Photography
This light is easy to set up and operate. It offers a decent range of cool to warm color hues with the turn of a knob (I don't plan to use the app to control the light). Ditto, there's a functional range of brightness levels (also controlled by a knob) that enables flexible gradations, not fixed brightness increments. It comes with a table clamp for mounting. But I have mine installed on a standard light stand. The light would work for tabletop or portrait photography. I use my light plugged into a power outlet. But you can buy optional batteries for it too. The knobs and tightening fittings all work well. As does the rear display - it's easy to read. The head rotates as expected. And, I like the included case that holds the light, adapter and plug (not the clamp). The user guide mentions the light can be used alone or as a master to operate other similar lights as remotes (they used a more traditional photo term...).My wish is that I'd gotten a somewhat larger diameter version of the same light. Plus, some users might feel they'd benefit in their lighting setups by using more than one of these. I also wish GVM had a long (about 5 ft tall) rectangular panel version of this type of continuous soft light (maybe they do) to use for standing subject portrait photography.I'd recommend this light.

Not 5600K
This is a really nice light which is well-built, and very bright, but it is not 5600 K when cranked all the way in that setting. On the left is a room light of a different brand that is 5600 K and in the middle of the spotlight which is also 5600 K, but the GVM clearly looks warmer even though the read out says 5600 K. If Natalie looks warmer compared to the other two, but it simply looks too warm to the human eye to be 5600 K. So, if you don’t really care about matching this to other lights it’s great, but I do care about matching it to my two other lights so this is a problem.

Flickers when brightness set to low.
Either a defective unit or there is a big problem with flickering at low brightness levels. I sent the unit back and Amazon is telling me 30 days to get a refund. They have had my return as confirmed with UPS for days and still nothing. I would not buy from this seller ever again.

Great web conferencing light
Now that I live my life on Zoom, I took the money I've been saving on pants and spent it on some nice lighting. This a really great light, and while a cheaper ring light probably would have been fine for my basic web conferencing purposes, this light feels well made and just helps me feel a bit more polished and confident when it comes to my virtual presence.
