Restored My Hope in Humanity
What we all just did one good deed every day? What if we all used our gifts to better the world? Huh shows us how.

An enjoyable romp of Good Vs Not-Evil-But-Close-Enough. Looking forward to any sequel.
Never been a fan of Mark Millar as I associate his writing with hard violence and darkness. Only purchased this based on reviews with scans I found elsewhere. Huck's content is closer to a Superman comic than a Batman one. There is violence from fighting bad guys and some mild sexual moments where a woman momentarily seduces a man to escape. Nothing I'd be afraid of an older child seeing.Basically, Huck is an alternate early Superman story without the aliens. The character is an alter- Superman/Santa Klaus at his best, innocent charm lathered over moral rightness. I liked him right away. The baddies are your garden variety thugs, terrorists, bad scientists, and selfish people versus selfless ones. Nothing cosmic. Just really good vibes when they get their comeuppance. Feel good ending. I enjoyed it quite a bit.Art: Bear in mind that art is subjective to personal tastes.Nice coloring with a predominance of earth tones--- fits well with the rural settings. Good pencils, but tend to get a bit harsh with either hard slants around eyes varying with small roundish eyes (which as far as I can tell have nothing to do with a character's race background.) Inking is a tad 'sketchy' for my taste, but not enough to dislike. (I prefer less black lines especially on faces.) There's enough of a mix of panel sizes so that the story isn't just a series of box panels.

A good non-Superman Superman story
Huck by Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque should feel too cheesy with it's wholesomeness. The main character is impossibly good for the real world, and yet the wholesomeness of Huck feels authentic. Described by author Mark Millar as antidote to darker and edgier comics, Huck reminds readers what superheroes like Superman are all about.

You've definitely read this story before (it's basically a slightly simple-minded Superman who only wants to do good deeds and the town that is trying to protect him and keep him secret - even tho you know it's never that simple), but there is a definite level of heart in this story that makes it stand on its own. Albuquerque's art fits the retro feel of the book perfectly. Will be checking out future volumes for sure.

Fun and original
A great response to stories that bask in the use of darkness for the sake of being dark. While morally complex heavy stories are great, this is a good hero doing good for good reasons. Manages to still be complex in storytelling.A fresh take on the superhero genre. The creation of a compelling new superhero is a rare thing, and theyβve nailed it here. Plus the art is fantastic, emotionally enhancing to the story, and presents a consistent aesthetic. You should read it.

Amazing!
This book was a surprise. I had read about the hype around it, and I'm a huge fan of Mark Millar and Image Comice, so I immediately got it when I had the chance. It didn't disappoint. It's familiar in the sense that you are reminded of a Forest Gump/Of Mice and Men kind of vibe, but also unique in a way. Couldn't stop reading until I was finished. Hit me right in the feels.

Superman
Huck works at a small gas station in a quiet American coastal town. When not at work he focuses his time and energy on performing one good deed every day for the people of the town he knows so well. Everyone likes Huck and the good he has done for the town but they are all hiding a secret about who Huck really is and when one the town's residents reveals this secret to the media, all eyes are suddenly on Huck with many looking to exploit him, others pleading for help and some who may put the lives of those he loves in danger. Huck is the story of Superman if Superman had never been discovered and made himself and his powers known to the world. The story is well written and entertaining and does not seem as dark as some of Mark Millar's other work. The illustrations also reflect this, presenting us with a comic strip that full of soft light colours that reminds me on a Sunday morning serial I might have watched as a child. There was something nostalgic about this for me. I loved the story and style, the only downside i felt was I wanted to know more about the world of Huck, it did not really explore the character and those around him enough for me.

Not your typical Millarworld title
4/5.I like reading Mark Millar comics, they're the four colour versions of Hollywood blockbusters. Slightly thin on the ground in terms of character and story wise, but always absolutely gorgeous to look at, with Mark regularly having access to the best artists in comics and allowing them time to produce stellar work.Huck, is different. It's not balls to the wall action, it's a bit...mushy...maybes even hopeful in its tone. Huck is a good natured, simple soul who uses his largely hidden powers to help people with various problems. This is until some light us shoneon his origins and we get the obligatoryaction and exposition scenes. Millar uses his limited series format very well and Huck is an easy read but I think it will warrant re-reading from time to time. The story is worth your time and it's brilliantly rendered by Rafael Alberqueque of American Vampire fame. He's a strong artist and his exaggerated style fits the story and characters and setting really well and his action flows well and is easy to follow. The artis allowed to breathe and show itself as Millar is a master in not filling his panels with unnecessary dialogue or text, something that can be lost with newer, less experienced talents. In short, worth your time and cash.

Superhero with a difference
Great tale of a gentle super hero that is exposed to the world. really enjoyed it not like any other regular Super hero graphic novels, because this hero is a gentle simple soul, who try to keep his powers to himself. Of course someone exposes him to the rest of the world, and his simple life is no more.I only gave this the 4 stars because the tail does not really end.... and its been out a while and no news of any Huck part 2!
