Secret Ladder

I heard one song in this album and it made me want to check it out. I listened to the sound bites and was very delighted to hear the quality of the music and the songwriting.Now that I purchased it from Amazon, I keep listening to it over and over again. So many great songs. The guitar work is excellent. Consistently good songwriting and creativity. Beautiful production. Couple of songs are real sentimental, so if you don't go for that, might not want to spend too much time on those two.I just finished listening to "Experiment" for the umpteenth time. The chorus and the last part of the song just amazes me. But there are so many other great songs on this album.

Dear Christopher Cross. If you are reading this, I wrote an entire musical comedy play based on this album. It's timely, relevant and this soundtrack described the horror that was the political infighting in my second marriage. To everyone else - just buy it, you will love it. Highlights are Wonderland and Reverend Blowhard and I say this with good christian love, I am a devout christian and I still understood that not all of god's messengers are godly men, sometimes they are wolves in sheep's clothing - or rather devils in angel costumes.

CD arrived sealed and in great shape, though I had to wait a few extra days for it. Cross never disappoints. His music is thoughtful, melodic, and natural -- it never feels forced. It's a delight to the ears and the spirit. Bravo!

I like it a lot. I have a lot of respect for Christopher, still churning out good music. The music is very well crafted and the only knock I have (and who the heck am I) is that sometimes I think he takes the easy route lyrically and there is a something deeper. When we get to those lines in the song, every time I listen to the song, I wish he had not used the easy rhyme.I liked "Dr. Faith" a lot too!I have learned to expect Michael McDonald to pop up at some point in every recording. "Dr. Faith, Fix me Dr. Faith"....

Done a few years after the debut CD and top notch.

Christopher Cross continues producing excellent music well past his prime. If you were a fan of Christopher Cross's debut album in 1979, you will love this album.

In den Achtzigern war ein ganz Großer, nach "Ride like the wind" und seine erste mehrfach ausgezeichnete LP kaufte ich noch Another Page die ebenfalls Klasse ist und dann eine dritte deren Namen ich vergessen habe - weil die Musik mich enttäuschte. Jetzt fast 30 Jahre danach hörte ich Abends spät bei Bayern 3 einen Song seiner neuen CD - I don't see it you're way - rockig, und mit gutem Groove. Also hab ich am Tag danach Secret Ladder bestellt. Ich kann nur sagen eine echt prima CD, da ist fast kein einziger Song drauf der abfällt. CC spielt coole Soli, mal rockig mal soft - und singt wie altbekannt auf höchstem Niveau - auch ein "Worldmusic-Song" ist drauf mit seinem alten Wegbegleiter Michael Mc Donald (auch einer meiner Favoriten -ob bei den Doobies oder Solo). Eine echte Empfehlung!
