Failed *LEAK & LIGHT* test. I will try my luck one more time.
I am a Lineman Apprentice and work in desert conditions where summer temperatures rise up to 110 degrees. I purchased this 20 qt cooler due to the great reviews from Amazon and the functional features advertised on RTIC’s website. One of the most influential features given on their website is the ability to keep ice up to 10 days, unfortunately that is not the case with this cooler. The cooler I received only managed to keep ice for 30 hrs even though it was pre-chilled. The lid was opened a maximum of 6 times within the 30 hour time frame, and the cooler was used in real working conditions at the job site on the back of a service truck with the sun beating directly on it. I knew something was not right, thus, I decided to conduct a light test with a bright light inside the cooler in a dark room and a leak test. Unfortunately the cooler failed both the LIGHT and LEAK TEST. During the light test the top of the lid lit up even though it was tightly sealed, and in the leak test water leaked from the back left side of the lid even though it is suppose to be vacuum sealed (refer to video). According to RTIC “All RTIC Products are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 30 days from the original date of receipt.” This cooler was used in real working conditions and failed to maintain ice after 30 hrs. Perhaps it can be concluded that the cooler I received is defective. I will be shipping it back to RTIC and will try my luck one more time. I will update this review once I receive my replacement.

Service experience was poor
My initial cooler didn't stay cold too well(ice melting in a day), I opened a ticket with Rtic explaining this, they said I could turn it in for testing or return it. I ended up returning it and buying a new one. The new one performs excellently, ice lasting for more than a few days. But I received an email later that told me my returned cooler passed their testing and they were charging me for return shipping. If had known that, I wouldn't have gotten the replacement. Poor experience and I would not recommend them based on that alone.

Just OK - Cold, but Heavy and Lid Gets Stuck
PROS:Looks greatKeeps ice for much longer than standard coolersCONS:Limited space: walls are so think you lose a lot of interior spaceHeavy: At around 18lbs empty this cooler isn't great for hauling fully loaded with ice and drinksLid gets stuck: Our lid gets stuck closed if the lid gasket gets wet and requires two people to pull it open and break the seal.WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN:No. I'd get a bigger-sized cooler of this type and a bag-style one for smaller use.I've had one of these coolers for a year now, and compared to my previous Coleman, it does keep ice for much longer. I can pack it in the morning and take it to a hot baseball tournament and find cold drinks at the end of the day. That being said, its heavy proportionate to its size and the walls are so thick that it really cuts down the usable space inside. Additionally, we find the the lid gets a pretty strong "vapor lock" if the black lid gasket gets wet, enough so that it takes two of us to open the lid.

Holds ice but doesn’t hold up
Holds ice well but that’s about all this has going for it. I think they used to be “half” the cost of a yeti but as of today the same size yeti (roadie 20) is $7 more than this one on sale at REI...First use two of the rubber feet broke off and would not go back on and the handle completely came off while lifting it out of the car. Yeti is far better for $7 more. I returned it.

Sturdy, and a great bang for the buck!
In the month that I have used this, I have put it through the ringer. I took it on a 3 day canoe trip, and it kept my steaks and drink cold throughout the 80 degree days perfectly. I also took this to the beach for a week. Only refreshed the ice 3 times in the 6 (90 degree) days I was there - and one of those times was because I spilled the ice and contents out like an idiot. The only downside about this cooler (and the reason why I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5) is that the rubber feet on the bottom are not permanently attached. I lost one of the rubber feet on the river trip, but a quick call to RTIC customer support resolved the issue. Their friendly customer service rep shipped a new foot to me, and I only had to pay for shipping. The rubber footing issue is easily resolved by using a waterproof superglue to secure each of the feet to the cooler itself. For the value, and reliability, I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking something that is durable and reliable, but unwilling to pay for the "YETI" name (is the name worth 75$ to you?).
