Updated Review. Not ideal for moving from room to room.
Updated Review: I was impressed to hear back from the sellers when I decided to return this item. They contacted me via email, issued a refund and apologized for my dissatisfaction. They encouraged me to keep the stand and take some additional time to try it out. I think if I leave it by my bedside with weight on the base instead of moving it from room to room, it will at least work for one area of my home and that is a far better experience than having to return the product. Kudos to the seller's for being so wonderful to work with. That is a unique experience purchasing from such a big retailer like amazon.Updated review: I get the complaints now. So what happens is you change position, move your tablet and the adjustable arm, but it doesnt move thr base, so the base stays put and then the whole thing is off balance and it will fall over. So if you want to adjust it you have to pick up the whole thing, move the base in the correct direction then adjust. Doesnt sound like that much work, because it isnt, but it is annoying and inconvenient. I decided to send it back.Last weeks review: like it so far. I have had it A whole 45 min and I'm hooked. Woot woot.I am having problems with my neck. I'm 33 and getting an old lady hunch back going on. I'm trying to correct it and I am hopeful this helps me. I read a lot on my kindle, so I got this to help me not slouch my neck. It also works great for my phone. The bottom is very heavy and seems sturdy, but I could see it falling over if your not careful about positioning it correctly. If you set it up to face you in the direction it shows in my photo, you will find it is much sturdier. I saw some negative reviews about the weight distribution and it falling over, but I think if you have it set up correctly you wont have that issue. The base is a flat rectangle, so even if you feel it is not sturdy. You can easily add weight to hold it in place. If the base is the other direction it is not stable, so pay attention to the base. The adjustable setting is very versatile. I can even lay on the floor and read! Nice!

Not for CPAP users
I wear a CPAP mask at night but want to read my Paperwhite in bed. My arms get tired because I have to hold the tablet so high to see over the mask. I thought this was the answer to my prayers, but it didn't work. I had to insert/remove the Paperwhite to turn it on/off plus it only extended a few inches over the bed so I would have to turn my head to read. Meanwhile, the 6' CPAP hose was in the way and I couldn't move the stand very far when I got up in the middle of the night. The stand is a great idea and well made. It didn't take me long to adjust it.

Perfect for my needs.
I ordered this for my iPad. Just received today and I’m happy. I’ve had cataract surgery and looking down to read only made text fuzzy. But looking at work computer was fine. So I figured I needed something to help brace my iPad up higher and so started the hunt. I’ve read that base may not be sturdy but I figured I could lay something on the base to weight it from tipping. Did not need anything for base. It’s heavy and has rubber on bottom to help stay put. I only had to use one pole for height with my recliner. Though I’m not a fan of the neck, not easy to bend with rod inside but I guess it needs to be that stiff to hold iPad or anything up. I’m very happy with my purchase.UPDATE - I take back about the stand not tipping. A couple adjustments/moves and it did lean. If it’s in one place you’re good. For me I turn it to the side when getting out of my recliner. That’s when I noticed the lean. But now it’s weighted now so it’s fine.

Greatest accessory for kindle
Living my laziest and coziest life. I bought this in combo with the Bluetooth remote for my kindle so I can read and turn pages without straining my neck and without getting out of my blankets. AMAZING

Exactly what I needed!
This is exact what I am looking for! It's decently priced with acceptable build quality.Several downsides:The base is rectangular, which means you will not get the same grade of stability when the device gets rocked side to side when compared to back and forth. I would've very much preferred a rounded base so that you get even stability distributed across the center of gravity. The clamping mechanism is built entirely out of plastic, so the long term durability will be the biggest concern for me. I will update this review after a year or so into using the product to see if it lasts. The clamping mechanism does not support 12.9 inch iPads, which it would've been fantastic if it did.Otherwise, it's an fantastic solution to using your tablet in bed!

Not sturdy. Garbage.
Worked for a couple of months but then the back that holds the iPad in place snapped off and now it’s useless. Waste of money!!

Very difficult to adjust.
I like this and it does work as long as you do not need to change it. The flexible part is very stiff and almost impossible to adjust. This may be a useful quality if it is exactly how you need it, but I wanted to use it one way and then another, that’s not working.

Great device for using your ipad in bed without having to hold or prop up. You can use it just about anywhere.
