Great Boot
So I recently damaged the upper on my Red Wing boot, which was disappointing since it was a good work boot. Rarely has a work boot or even a shoe lasted me so long. So I decided to pick up this Danner Boot. It looked good online and had some good reviews so I figured, if the shoe fit then I'de give it a try. So far (1 month in) I've been liking it as a work boot. I'm not crazy about the laces or the white sole, but I end up wearing shoes so long that soles get replaced by my shoe cobbler, and laces get replaced once they tear. Anyways, I have made a list of things that I do and don't like about this boot.Things I like about this boot- Fitment. The boot fits really well, I'm an 11 1/2 and european 45 and this boot fits well even though Danner reports this boot to be a 46. My foot doesn't slide at all and I can work all day without blisters or hot feet or sliding around. The toe box is little larger than average, but I find it fine.- Color. I like the leather and the logo is subtle. One thing I hate is shoes that boast their logo all over the shoes. This one is a good looking work boot.- Sole. I like the non-marking sole and that it can be replaced easily.- Height. I like that I moved from a below ankle work boot to above ankle work-boot. I think I would prefer to go to a higher boot: see the list below why.Weight. This boot weighs a decent amount, but I don't get tired thought the day. The first day was not a chore to move the weight around.Things I don't like about this boot.- Break In Period. Most boots require a break in period of a couple days, to a month. I'm currently one month in and my feet still hurt at the end of the day from the shoe not giving in. This boot takes a long time to break in. I've been walking to lunch in these boots to try to break them in faster. Lexol has been smothered on them, but my friend told me he had to put Lexol on every three days to help it break in faster. I'm not a fan of the length of break in, but once they are broken in, I'm sure I'll love them. The harder the break in period, the longer the shoe should last.My friend also told me that If I had purchased the 8-inch or taller boot, then it wouldn't be digging into my calf so bad. So I probably should have gone with the 8 inch or taller.- Tongue. Something is weird about the tongue of the shoe. The left tongue on my Danner won't stay up, it shifts to the left. The right tongue is the same way, it moves to the right. And my last pair of shoes didn't have this problem at all. It might be that the shoe isn't broken in yet, or that I got a bad batch, I'm not exactly too sure, but the problem is so minor that I won't knock any stars. We'll see in a couple more months. So that's my opinion of this boot. Hope you found it helpful.

Danner for life
The quality of workmanship is quite high and is repairable. These are not the so often typical throw away boots. Secondly I am awed by the size availability, 15-1/2B. That is nothing less than incredible. For anyone who thinks otherwise, try to find this size in ANY non-custom made boot, worldwide. The boots feel comfortable from the get go and finally my toes are not hurting from wearing size 15's that are too short. It's Danner for life.

Wow
Edit* 1 week later boots are broken in nicely. First 2 days wore at home, which broke in the tounge and lace leather area. Then next 4 day were worn full 8 hr days at work, yes some pains biggest area that needed break in was flex in the step and the heel. At the end of day 6 they were noticeably better. Here it is day 7 and perfectly comfortable work boots. This upper is going to last forever! The sole will not make it a year but I already planned on resoling to a lug when this wedge gives out. Love these boots!Ok first thing, I just got them today 6-16-16. Tried them on and perfect fit, laced them up and as stiff as they are zero heel slip.Lets start with the leather.. Holly @#!! $% is this some heavy duty skin! Thick will last forever if taken care of. I have knife sheaths thinner than these boots. All that being said, this leather is crazy stiff. You can crank the laces and your not moving the leather. I just finished the first coat of obenaufs oil, once that has seeped in it will get a second coat. It really does help soften the leather.Comfort, even with how stiff the boots are they are very comfy. This is my first wedge sole, and the christy knocks it out of the park. Extra cushion with every step. Yes they are vibram, and yes they will wear down quickly but when they do ill resole to a lug sole. The basic footbed is more than enough cofot aswell.Sizing, I wear an 11D in almost every boot except my belleville 590's. I ordered 11D and feels as though danner made them for my feet. Not sure where people get the loose heel cup from, mine are perfect form fitting. Not a 5 star boot yet, will need to see how they are in 12 months
