Most-used tool in my shop
I keep this little gem in the breast pocket of my work apron. Throughout a work session I probably reach for it at least a couple dozen times to use for project dimensions, tool set-ups, etc. The way the increments are laid out took a bit to get used to but now I find it intuitive and I like it. Etched lines are easy to catch with a marking knife and are usually easy to read. The only nit I'd pick with it is that I wish it had more of a matte finish since the surface can reflect light causing it to be a little difficult to read in certain lighting conditions.

fair
not horrible, bought at the same time as a mitutoyo ruler of the same length. At the time of purchase there was a few dollars difference. Mtiutoyo is significantly different class of quality and materials. Much better purchase then the Taytools. The 24" rule however, not sure i can justify the price of the Mitutoyo for what i do. The Taytools will be fine.

Stiff and measures to the edges.
The main thing I like about it is that the readings start at the edge so you can bump it against something to measure. It's 0.040" thick which is thicker than most steel rules and I like that. I think the 6" rule is a bit wide but I'm not complaining really.I had a 12" version of this ruler already. They don't seem to offer an 18" version of this rule which I would really like to have.

Very Nice Rule
This rule, while less expensive than a Starrett or PEC, is every bit as good as those other brands mentioned. The corners are crisp, the edges straight and true, and the photo-etching is of good quality. As a CNC machinist, a good pocket rule is a must. This one fits the bill perfectly.

Big and wide scale for the cost.
The finish is the only downside to this scale. It is very shiny and hard to read in some situations. I much prefer the satin chrome finished rulers, they are way easier to read than these. It is what it is, though. Very nice quality and heavy duty as it can be. Younger people with good eyes may not struggle as much as this old timer does with it.
