Recieved my knife and it looks better in person. Have yet to use it, but it came in pretty sharp. Will use it on my next smoked brisket.

Good knife at a bargain price
I'm blessed to have a good collection of top-quality knives that I've collected over the years, but I'm always eager to try new brands. For the most part, this knife was a pleasant surprise, especially considering the low price. The knife itself seems to be very well crafted overall. The fit and finish are perfect, and it has an overall feel of quality to it. The handles are supposedly a type of synthetic material, but to my eye, they appear to be almost some sort of tight-grained wood.I'm not thrilled with the Damascus pattern stamped into the blade. Unlike "real" Damascus that hammers and forges multiple layers of metal into one strong blade, the Damascus pattern on this blade is just decorative. It's pretty, but it adds nothing to the performance of the blade. The blade itself is 1.4116 steel - most people will recognize this as the steel commonly used in Swiss Army knives. It's a good choice for a kitchen knife - tough, stain resistant and so forth. The only issue I find with 1.4116 steel is that it tends to require frequent sharpening. Unlike some steels that are much harder, 1.4116 is very easy to sharpen.Out of the box, I found the blade to be less than ideally sharp. About 15 minutes of work sharpening and honing the blade brought it to the razor sharpness I expect. If you use it a lot and like an exceptionally sharp blade, expect it to need a touch-up every week or so.I found it comfortable in my smallish size hands, and overall it's a pleasure to use. The blade is long and wide enough that you can get the right leverage on pretty much anything you want to cut with it, and kept sharp, it has no trouble slicing through anything you're likely to find in the kitchen. It's easy to clean and has no tendency to rust or discolor, no matter what you cut.Overall, considering the price of this knife, I think it represents great value - you'd have to spend considerably more to get a higher-quality product. Definitely worth a look!
