KovotApple Shaped Mesh Fruit Basket | Keep Freshness In & Bugs Out

I got this basket to protect our fruit from unwelcomed nightly visitors. Which at first we thought it was mice but it turns out it was a rat! It took the exterminators three weeks to get it, and in the meantime, we got this basket, which I thought the rat would be able to get through, or at the very least take the lid off but it couldn't. It would take everything else around it but was unable to open it or break it to get to the fruit inside. Now the rat is gone but we love our fruit basket, is pretty looking and very spacious for its size.

I bough this to keep my bird from biting the bananas and it worked perfectly! It’s secure so he can try to open it but isn’t able to.

I like this enough that I bought another one used. The little handle at the top (the leaves) did break off pretty quickly on the used one, but was easily fixed with duct tape inside and outside. Fits in with my other duct tape decor.I need to keep fruit away from Mickey the Rat(s) and the cats and insects while also allowing for good circulation of air for fruit that can or should be stored out of the fridge (citrus, stone fruits, tomatoes, avocados, sweet bell peppers). Mickey hasn't succeeded yet in getting into it and he/she does like fruit. I left an apple unguarded for a while and came back to find Mickey had eaten half of it. Mickey is so wasteful. All the Mickeys are now on a birth control program (really, Senestech's rat contraceptives) which should also help.But all my food has to be securely locked down, so I can't just leave fruit out in an open bowl. The real test will be with the summer fruits, but I'm hopeful of continued success. I'll keep a small jar with a soap and vinegar solution nearby to inspire fruit flies to stay off the fruit also if that becomes a problem.So far, this device also does prevent mold growth pretty well. Recently forgot about a bell pepper for a week or so and it got wrinkly all over (a sign of aging when the air circulation is too good, doesn't affect edibility). I had never seen this before, just a little wrinkling in spots, and usually mold is the real problem. No sign of mold at all on bell peppers or oranges or grapefruits (which do mold on me in the fridge), so I'm happy.

This is a cute product, but the top and bottom don’t sit perfectly together unless you press the top way into the bottom. I don’t think that’s how it’s designed to work, but that was my attempt at a solution to make it work. Otherwise the ends dont match and it lets bugs in, and then they can’t get out!Then, there’s the problem of pulling it back off, and the top gets stuck on. The top handle is poorly designed; it comes apart easily when pulled on.So, I left it together overnight, hoping maybe it was just a fluke, but sure enough there were fruit flies all over the fruit in the morning, happily stuck in then basket with my fruit. ☠️

I got it and really liked it but it was a bit smaller so it can’t hold much. The top got stuck gave it a pull and the handle broke off which was a bummer so I still use the bottom part but wish it held up more

The media could not be loaded.  Just got it. The lid was supposed to snap in to the other half and come off smoothly I assume but mine was not like that. I tried to pull it apart and ended up snapping apart the handle! Now I got a nice piece of junk.

I was a little disappointed when I opened the packaging because it was MUCH smaller than I expected. Still nice though!
