Couldn't put this book down...
Quite simply a warrior,I remember watching the fight at the time because I followed Nigels career....has there very been a more brutal fight in the boxing ring..Ever...Nigels life story is more than worth a read...if i could give 6 stars i would

Good till the final 3 chapters
A great read and insight into rhe world of nigel benn. Although towards the end of the book it becomes a bit to much about his new beliefs and to much about god and his beliefs. I found i was skipping pages towards the end it was uninteresting and a bit stuffed down your throat about chapters and verses in the bible. It spoilt it for me.

Why tell us all the time how much you love this person or that person or your parent
Why 3 stars? because of the first sexual account at 12. No need for all those details...Why tell us all the time how much you love this person or that person or your parent? Also why not expand on the custody battle, which could give this book another flavour, joining so thousands of fathers who suffer the same situation?Anyway the book is like unfinished... You talk about ministry of sound and church..You are not as real as mike Tyson in his book where he tries to be more open about his life and daily struggles, from millions to broke...Boxing is over and life can be boring but, having your army background, many security companies would be happy to welcome you (undercover detective for ex?). You could keep it real this way, joining millions of workers at least once a week! It could be fun to join a new crew!!We love u Benn and you are one of the greatest. Watching your fight is more exciting than Eubank for example! You have done your bit, you have won! But life continues, don’t drop the guard!

The Dark Destroyer rides again
Well this is a great honest read about a great British boxer.who has reformed himself and remade himself into a better person. Benn describes his life in a relaxed style, he does not hide the mistakes of a person. The fight with Logan remains one of my memories of his career. He achieve so much. His battles with Eubank, Barkley and McClellan were scary from the angle of being brutal to each other. His relationship with his wives and children is very close to him. He seems a very genuine person. Good luck Nigel

Search for a soul.
Not quite as in depth on the fights and the training as a fight fan would like, especially from a massive talent like Nigel Benn, but a very compelling and moving character study of a man trying to find his place in the world. Honest and hard hitting in places (it is Nigel Benn after all ) but ultimately uplifting and leaves you admiring the man for more than just his superb boxing.

A thorough good read that you will not want to put down.
Just finished reading Nigel Benn's book and what a read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and could not put it down. One of the best boxers of all time, such a character. Was lucky enough to meet this wonderful person and as his book describes a truly remarkable man.

loved it
I thought it was a great read. You get a great insight into a very complex character and a fantastic world champion. From growing up as a tough kid, his womanising ways, his balls out fearless determination to be the best.As a kid Benn was one of the fighters I'd sit with my dad and watch and this book allowed me to enjoy his career just that little bit more.

It was interesting
It was interesting but I thought he could've went into more details about his boxing training and martial art skills.

Disappointed
I loved Nigel Benn the figher but certainly not Nigel Benn the author. I understand boxers need to have confidence to be as good as they are however this book seems to emphasize how good Benn was and how bad everyone else was, which was not the case. Benn's early years were interesting enough but over all I found the book disappointing.
