Very useful
Fitted this easily under my studio desk. Well made, does the job, allows me to plug in several bits of gear that can remain plugged in permanently

Good quality and easy to mount
I mounted this under my desk with wood screws (plus some penny washers). It's rock solid. The sockets have been reliable and every plug fits securely (especially when upside down) and the sockets are reasonably well spaced (.The illuminated rocker switch has a good positive action (and is LED not a flickering neon). It paired nicely with this cable management tray, which is about the same size, and fits nicely underneath it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/METALBOOM-Steel-Rack-Cable-Management/dp/B0B59WM8X8I cut the plug off, shortened the lead, and wired on a C14 plug to fit into the back of my UPS - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0839V8G4N

Excellent quality - will go the distance
Did exactly what was expected. Will put up with being used frequently. There is a newer model with a surge protector built in which I would have bought if it had been available.

Not convinced this has surge protection
The build quality on the power strip seems good, with a metallic case (possibly aluminium), a proper plug with 13A fuse, and a robust-feeling power switch with neon. What I'm not seeing is any evidence of the surge protection that is proudly mentioned numerous times in the product's description. I'm not an electronics expert, but looking at other products on Amazon and various teardowns on YouTube, there should be a module containing the surge protection components. Typically there are three varistors that link the wires in pairs (Live-Earth, Live-Neutral, and Earth-Neutral). Since the earth wire enters and is connected directly to the pins, there doesn't seem to be anywhere for this surge protection circuitry to live except the plug -- and I'm fairly sure it's not in the plug!I'd probably give this a four-star review as it does seem OK in terms of materials, but dropping to three because I don't *think* there's surge protection. If I was 100% certain I'd drop to one star for the deceptive product listing. Attached a photo of the naked power strip; if anyone can use this to confirm/deny the presence of surge protection I'd be happy to see your comment!
