Performs as Advertised - Impressive at this Price Range
The purpose for this microphone is gaming, podcasting, etc. and for those purposes at this price point, this microphone really impressed me.Other mics of this type in the $30-40 price range either have no controls on the mic or only a volume (gain). This mic has a volume (gain), echo/reverb, a mute button and headphone jacks. So you get more features than with other mics of this price point. It is a sturdy build and feels like good quality. It is secure in the tripod stand and won't easily be knocked over. The tripod stand is adjustable in height, angle/tilt, and the mic can be rotated 360 degrees in the stand. It can be removed from the stand and used in a boom.It is plug and play with the USB 3.0 (other mics in this range may only be USB 2.0) and an adapter for Android is also included making it possible to use this mic on smartphone, laptop, or computer in PC or Mac. The instructions were very detailed and clear/easy to understand.I tested the mic at 70% volume and approx 30cm distance which is what is recommended by the manufacturer. I tested it with and without the windscreen and pop filter. I prefer the sound with both items in place. The built in noise reduction is pretty good. If you are live streaming it will be fine. If you are recording, putting it through additional noise reduction in your editing program will make it even better. I was very impressed with how much extra sound it cut out. I intentionally bumped the microphone, the stand, the table, and clacked away at my computer keys like I was in an aggressive video game battle and the only time the sound really came through loud enough to be distracting was when I bumped the mic handle or the windscreen. Simply knocking into the tripod or the table, or clacking the computer could be heard, but was not overpowering. If you do not have a USB mic and are looking for a mic for podcasting, video recording, gaming, etc in this price range, then this mic does do what it advertises. I will be giving it to a family member who is starting a gaming channel on YouTube and I have no doubt it will work very well for them as they start out. The mute button is great and having the headphone jack is also handy. No extra noises bleed through when headphones were attached or when the unit was in mute.If you have a mic in this range already and are looking to upgrade, the additional buttons and features probably are not enough of an upgrade to make it worthwhile. I found the reverb overpowering for any of my personal uses and would leave that at 0% but others might like 5%-10% and the 100% level can make some interesting special effects!Overall, I give the KMAG USB Microphone 4 stars for volume control. The knobs are a little small and there is no control for volume on the headphones separately from the mic volume (but again at this price point no other mics even offer this feature at all). If your headphones have volume control this won't be an issue.I give it a 4 for noise cancellation. It does a great job, but it's not like a pro mic. It is great for this price point. I was duly impressed. Again, if you are recording you can do additional noise cancellation in post. If you are live streaming a gaming session or having a podcast it may not even be noticeable unless you have long silences or a lot of background noise at your location.I give it a 5 for sound quality and a 5 overall for all the other aspects (sturdy, ease of use, etc).I would recommend this mic for beginners, enthusiasts, those starting out a new podcast or YouTube channel, for zoom and conference calls, and for basic recording. If you need pro audio sound for clients, for singing/musicians, etc you might need a mic with more features, but at this price it couldn't hurt to try this mic first before you make a large investment.I will be posting a video review with sound tests on my YouTube channel. I recommend anyone looking to purchase this go to any of the available sound test videos and check it out for yourself.

Recommend for setups with post-processing
(Product was received for free to provide feedback with no obligation to post review)The package is nicely put together and comes with a bunch of accessories. You get a pretty basic desktop tripod, an adapter to mount the mic (which is billed as a shock mount, but doesn't reduce any noise itself), both a pop filter and windscreen, a USB-B-to-A cable, a USB-A-to-C adapter, and the mic itself. There's not a whole lot to say on the accessories. The cable is about 5 feet long which feels just a bit too short for a desktop setup but would work ideally for mobile setups. The pop filter is pretty lightweight and stiff and holds its position perfectly.I'll start with the pros of the mic: its body, knobs, and grille all have a nice, solid feel to them. The monitoring port is great if you have heavier, closed-back, or in-ear headphones and like to speak while being able to hear yourself, though if you don't wish to use the monitoring you have to disable the microphone as a speaker on your host device. The mute button is a little plastic gem with an LED inside that denotes whether it's muted or not, and I appreciate the LED being dim and off-set as to not create an annoying glare in dark rooms. The echo knob works well to add a tiny bit of reverb or crank it all the way to 100 for some silly effects, but I think most people will leave the knob sitting at zero. Its on-board soundcard's noise cancellation does a good job of almost eliminating the need to use either of the included pop filters. Now for its cons. When not listened to through the monitoring port, you'll immediately notice how low the output is, even with the volume knob at 100. I had to boost the sound by 500% in my broadcasting software or by +12 Db in my mixer for it to be audible in my existing audio setup. The output is a bit tinny, and I had to get the mic off the tripod and onto my scissor arm pretty close to my face to get an ideal bass. Its on-board sound suppression is a little too aggressive. While ambient noises, keyboard sounds, vibrations through the desk, etc. aren't audible even while on the scissor arm with no shock mount, it has a noticeably sharp start and falloff when speaking. I would much prefer that the existing echo knob be replaced with something to control the sound suppression or even compression, as that would help immensely dialing in the sound to your liking.Overall, while the package seems to be tailored a bit more for on-the-go setups, I'd recommend it for people with access to software post-processing to be able to tailor the sound and negate some of the shortcomings of microphone.

Great value for the cost!
So, my use case is that I use USB microphones for streaming. I have two setups, where one is for gaming where I'm using a Blue Yeti for speaking with my chat and I have that microphone mounted on a mic arm, and another setup for music streams in a different area and usually take that Yeti with me, but I wanted something to keep over there. In terms of what you get in the package, you get a nice tripod, a little pop filter, a foam wind shield, a USB-B to USB-A cable with a USB-C adapter for the A side and the microphone itself. The accessories are all pretty nice to set the microphone up and help filter out some external noise. As for the microphone itself, I think it's pretty great for how much it costs. It's not really fair for me to compare it to a microphone that costs almost 3x the price, but I think this microphone is a very capable microphone! My preferred style is to keep microphones fairly close to me since I like to speak with a quieter tone and adjust things via the microphone or software, and this microphone works quite well for that. Pulling the microphone away also works very well if you want to use it in a more distanced way, but the microphone is using a cardioid setup, in case you were wanting to use it for multiple people sitting near each other. The sound sounded pretty good to me for my purposes, which was good and clear. It can be a little quiet, but there are volume controls for the microphone that I was able to use.I think if you're looking for a nice all in one solution to get into streaming or podcasting, this is a great buy. It's a nice all in one solution with everything you'd need on the hardware side, and I can easily see myself using this as a portable solution if I wanted to take a microphone out for a remote stream or in a different location from my usual ones.
