Q: Is the cover airtight and have a gasket?

I don't believe it is airtight, but I just use this for the day of a party. We purchased the metal spigot for our two beverage containers and are VERY pleased with them. These beverage containers sit high enough for a cup to fit under the spigot, which I LOVE, because you don't have the worry of having them on the edge of a counter. Also, the best thing about these containers is that they don't LEAK from the spigot!

Yes, that should work using only the Glass Dispenser without the Iron Stand - IF you have sufficient height in your refrigerator. PLUS to shorten the glass Dispenser you could remove the glass lid and simply cover with aluminium foil. you should be good to go. VOILA!!

I would contact the manufacturer or Amazon and ask for information to contact the company directly or measure the one you have and shop for a new lid that would work. You could buy a metal cap style or have a cork top made
