The range extender comes in a box with instructions.The range extender/repeater has a built in plug to be attached to the wall. It also has a USB input and Ethernet input. There are actually two modes to setup this device. Once method is to use it soles as a wireless network or the second mode to act as a repeater for your existing router. The first mode can be activated as you would any wireless router such as trying to find the respective network and then entering the default passwords. In this method you will need to first connect an Ethernet from the cable modem or Ethernet supplier to the wireless device. For the second mode, the first method as provided in the instructions does not work properly. The wireless router as my first router I have is a TP-link router. If you press the WPS button, it may reset the router to original configurations. The second method for the repeater option is much easier. When the wireless devices is plugged in, and you notice the network appear in your select list, then enter the network credentials. Once you are connected to the “Ourlink” network, enter the network address of 192.168.8.1. Then enter the credentials as provided in the instructions. Once accessed, then you can change the password of the network, which will cause a reboot to the device. Then once rebooted, choose the repeater option and select network command button. Once this is selected, choose the network you would like to extend and its password, then the device will reboot and the setup for the repeater process is complete. There is a bit of slowness if you someone else is downloading material but that is common on any network to compensate for data rate.Overall, this is a great unit with variety of methods to ensure the device works. The repeater is reasonably priced as well and extends the signal in your house especially if your main router in on the first floor and you get weak signals on the upper floors, this increases the signal strength.I have received this item at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review for the product. This extender is perfect for our needs. Our WiFi connection was weak and even though we live in a small apartment, my son could not get signal in his room, but he has it now because of this extender! The only issue I had were the instructions...I spent 45 minutes trying to set this up and after getting frustrated realized all I needed to do was push a button on the extender. This was partially user error, but the instructions also are not super clear. It has multiple functions so if you are only using one function you only need to do one part of the instructions.

I'm not the most technology adept person and my expectation was that this range extender would work as well as the last one I bought (didn't find it on Amazon but assumed all worked as well). With the last one, I plugged it into the wall, hit the WPS button on my router and then on the extender and boom, they connected. No problems. This extender doesn't seem to work the same way. The range extender finds the WiFi but asks for a password. The password to my WiFi network doesn't work so now I'm stuck trying to troubleshoot the connection. However the extender is made someplace like China and the instructions are limited and written by a non-native writer. I'll try to reset the extender and try again but I'm disappointed it doesn't work like the first one I bought. If needed I will return it and then find the model I know works well.

Very hard to setup. I am very computer savy I went to college for graphic design and have a successful YouTube channel. My router does not have a WPS button so I had to set this up manually. This was very hard because the directions are garbage and the website is basically a bunch of dead links and no customer support. I couldn't figure out how to set this up so i called my brother, he couldn't either then eventually my cousin figured it out. After the hard setup it worked until today it just died on me. Not sure if there is any warranty but it has been basically months and it doesn't work anymore. Would not recommend this product.

I had a computer person come to hook this up for me. the instructions did not help. It worked for him. I paid $168.00 to have it hooked up. It did work, but then I had to get My Wi-Fi provider to move my Wi-Fi. A really nice fella posted a video. I got thru that ok. But, it is set up on my Linksys now. Each time I tried to hook it to my netgear 600 the netgear went offline. I give up. Spent all day trying to get this to work. GRRRRR. If you are tech savy, you can prob. do it. I cannot.

This works really well and does what it says. We needed it in order for my son's xbox one to connect to our internet and it does.Only 2 issues: setting up wasn't easy because the instructions are not very clear, and the extender resets quite a bit which is frustrating (like twice an hour).

The packing was better quality than the product itself. I won't know if its working until I have company in October. It was purchased because wifi phone reception is limited in a spare room.
