State-Of-The-Art Super-Lightweight Luggage
This is a premium product and expectations are high. I'm glad to say after a recent NYC trip the Victorinox Spectra 2.0 luggage here proved to be the perfect travel companion. This is one lightweight suitcase with generous room in a compact sized piece of luggage. The composite material Victorinox has used seems to be quite up to the challenge of modern travel. It's tough, resists light scratches, slightly expandable as the material seems to be more flexible, even a bit stretchy, and has a first-class set of rollers. The U-handle is perfect for pulling the suitcase on the rollers with stability (no tipping, turning, or twisting). The few black scratches the bag handlers managed to tattoo the suitcase with came off the red body with a modicum of effort. The zippers are exceptionally smooth and the combination lock is easy as pie to set - and being modern the Spectra series has the master key slot for baggage inspectors, should a random bag check happen. All in all a very nice piece of luggage and well worth the extra cost of admission over lesser bags.

sturdy and looks good
PROS:- Light-weight, sturdy and looks good! I bought the Mocha brown which is a silky brown colour... like chocolate!- It endured a 2- week trip from NYC to India and back (and domestic travel within India as well), and came out unscathed. Okay, maybe a few scratches here and there on the surface. These scratches are visible though. So for those, who do not like visible scratches, I'd humbly suggest getting a steamer trunk, or a luggage case from another brand ;)- Lining, zippers and pulls look delicate but are strong.- Wheels look very delicate, so I was a bit weary before travel, expecting one of them to pop off. But all four of them survived the NYC sidewalks and the international trip! They did look a little beat up upon return, so my weariness will continue...CONS:- It is entirely a personal choice, but I don't like that the zipper divides the luggage case in half. When you open a stuffed luggage, the top gets heavy and wobbly as it opens.- A nice bendable pvc /rubber name tag is included with this luggage. However, mine did not survive the first travel. Not a con, but I found the luggage tracker id quite useless. It is a unique number at the back of your case, where you pull up the handle. If your luggage gets lost, the onus is upon the finder of the luggage to know where to locate this id and know to call Victorinox helpline to return it. Something is better than nothing for sure.

If you want a hard sided suitcase that opens at the top, this is the one you should buy.
This is a really great suitcase - one of my favorites I've ever bought. I like hard-sided suitcases in general, but I don't like that nearly all of them open exactly in the middle and need to fully open flat to access stuff, which takes twice the room when you place it in a hotel room, need something quick in the airport, etc. I'm surprised that this isn't an issue for more people - I would think that most hard-sided suitcases would open at the top, like most regular suitcases, which to me is much more convenient. The Spectra 2.0 indeed opens at the top, which makes it unique and perfect for what I'm looking for. The handle comes out easily and is solid. The suitcase moves easily on the four spinner wheels and is great in terms of maneuverability. The inside is good for packing. The suitcase doesn't overly show wear, and is very aesthetic in my view. All around a great solid product. I bought both the big and medium versions given I like the design so much.I had traveled with it on about 6 trips and one of the times I got it back out of checked baggage, I saw the expansion zipper had come off half of the zipper. I couldn't get the other side of the zipper back in, so the expansion wouldn't have worked for me any further. Bags are treated roughly by airlines in general I think, and the zippers are good quality, so I didn't feel it was a defect in design - just something that happened. I shipped it back to Victorinox for repair, and was happy to get back a new suitcase given the problem. What was already a great product in my view is that much better given great customer service, so felt I should write a review with my positive experience. It's the least I can do for the service. If you want a hard sided suitcase that opens at the top, this one is a great buy and I highly recommend it.

Nice but....UPDATED
I generally liked this suitcase up until a point. It felt a little thin, however, ended up being quite sturdy. A couple of zip areas are nice and it was nice to have the double caster wheels, which were easy to push and convenient.UNTIL...one of the wheels feel off! I have no idea where it went. I was at the airport and all of a sudden noticed that it was falling over...looked down...wheel is entirely gone. The screw that keeps the wheel on the post fell out and that was it.To make it worse, it appears that these are unique wheels...so far I have not found any replacement on Amazon, 3rd party sites, or even on the Victorinox website. The Victorinox Support website claims a minimum of $50 repair fee, which after what I already spent on the luggage is very frustrating.UPDATE: Upon calling the Victorinix Support, they gave me a free wheel and this suitcase have been a sturdy, trustworthy companion around the world!
