Improvement upon Dominant aluminum D string
I got this string as a replacement for the aluminum wound Dominant d string because I guessed that this was the closest behaving/sounding string to it (you have to get silver-winding to get the right tension, but I don't like the sound or bow stroke of silver-winding--and the strong tension D is to strong). I also wanted to get a little warmer of a sound.This string fit the bill perfectly. It's the right tension and sounds lush right out of the package. It also helped the resonance of my G string somehow, likely due to the thin gauge achieved by using a composite rather than synthetic core.
