Don't hesitate to buy.
I have an original Life Hammer and this one seems just as good. At first I was disappointed that the Amazon Basics version was out of stock but this one is just as good, plus it has the reflective tape on the handle. I like buying these as gifts for new car owners, so I like keeping a couple handy. My vehicle has a seat adjustment bar so I simply zip tied (cable tied) the hammer base to it. This product is just well made, the nuts that hold the handle together have nylon inserts to prevent them from backing out from the screws.

Light tool with a heavy duty hit
I haven't used mine yet... Someone drowned in their car when they flew off the bridge, so I bought one for my husband and me. It feels really nice and definitely will break glass.
