Not enough "Meat"
I wanted to learn more about this breakthrough LP - when I got was a nice shot story with occasional mentions of the record.

Unexpected surprise...
Rather than give a boring account of how The Smiths' Meat is Murder was made, Pernice provides a riveting memoir full of death and despair that describes his relationship with the album and how it provided a backdrop for his and his friends' lives back in '85. An excellent and super-quick read.

Not really about the smiths
The album is mentioned, once or twice. The story follows a Boston teen in the early 80s. Kinda disappointing. No where near as good as the joy division one. But still better than the day dream nation one
