Great Gadget
This was a superb buy for anyone who still has and loves the Nintendo Wii. Simple product. Plug this straight into the back of the Wii. Plug your TV HDMI up and away you go. Happy 😊

Works perfectly on older TVs (set the TV port up manually)
This adaptor plugs directly into the back of the Wii console and completely replaces the existing video connection cables. As a result, you will need to purchase a HDMI cable separately yourself, unless you have a spare one already. The Wii doesn’t output a high-resolution picture, so any cheap HDMI cable should be fine.I noticed that other reviews reported issues such as, not working on older TVs, having to set the Wii video settings to HDTV or it wouldn’t work and even a completely blank screen when the adaptor was used.I tested the adaptor on a Sony (1080p) Bravia from 2009. It worked immediately and on all 3 of the Wii’s video output options without any issues at all. I suspect the person reporting a completely blank screen may have needed to manually setup the port on their TV. The TV may not have been able to detect the Wii via HDMI using the auto-detect; The Sony Bravia wasn’t able to.The audio came out through the TV via the HDMI cable without me having to do anything and there was no need to use the additional audio jack in the adaptor, which I believe is only there for sound bars/speakers if you want to use them. The picture was clear and undistorted, the same or better than composite. One thing I did notice when using the adaptor was that it introduced black bars down sides of screen not present when using composite. I switched back and forth between the two connection modes a few times to get a better understanding of what was going on. The composite connection always filled the entire screen, but it appears this is at the cost of having a small section of the top/bottom of the screen chopped off. For example, in the Wii main menu settings screens the bottom edge of the ‘Back’ buttons are chopped off when using composite but when using the HDMI adaptor, the entire button and a gap below is visible, but you then get the black bands left and right.I never noticed the composite was doing this in all the years we have used the Wii. After looking this issue up online, it may just be a picture scaling thing which can be got rid of either with the TV settings or the Wii aspect ratio and doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the adaptor. Just bear in mind that if you notice something similar, it is going to be a TV/Wii setting not something wrong with the adaptor. This adaptor allows us to get rid of the spaghetti Wii composite cables and the Wii can now be used on more modern TVs that often don’t come with the required ports for the Wii cables anymore.

Works very well but just be aware on your monitors resolution limitations
When I set this up initially it would not display as i had previously set the resolution to 480i when viewing on my monitor, The only way to resolve the issue was to set the wii up on my main tv and set it up to 480P (EDTV). Once that was done it displayed perfectly and really does display a great quality image.I have had a few issues with Gamecube games not displaying as they are probably displaying at an unsupported resolution but overall a great adapter for the price.

A great and cost effective way to get your WII on an HDMI Display.
There are loads of classic games for the Wii. Examples such as Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. To many to list here ( plus its not about the games). The Wii comes with Composite with a scart adapter. Basic to say the least. It doesnt get the best picture from the console. Plus most tvs have just HDMI these days. So you have to keep an older tv to play your Wii Games. You can use a general Comp video to HMDI, but this is designed specifically for connecting the Wii. The result are great, both sound and picture. A great and cost effect device. I stress it is NOT Cheap as that suggests lesser quality, it is a quality device, that is cost effective. Love it, Love it, Love it.

Works perfectly!
Straightforward plug and play option for Wii consoles. My son was over the moon this worked as his Wii cables no longer do. He couldn’t bring himself to part with his Wii or games so he was going to buy new cables. Now there’s no need, and the picture and sound quality is great. He’s been enjoying playing his old Pokemon, Zelda and Super Mario games since he got this converter. He did experience some issues with it going off at first but it turned out to be the old HDMI cable that works ok in his PS4. It just wasn’t fitting very snug in the adaptor. He swapped it for one of our new 8K backwards compatible cables and that’s a snug fitting so it works fine. Fantastic and economical way to update your Wii connection.

Stopped working after few days
After only few days of using the adapter started to display artefacts and the audio does not work anymore.

Better picture quality!
This is great for bringing your wii up to modern standards. The image quality is much better without the analog component cables and is plug and play. It does add some bulk to the rear of the console though, so depending on where you have it stored, this may be an issue.

If you want less cables use this adapter
I'm using this converter to transmit Wii signal over HDMI and it works great. My Wii has a few years and with this converter I have less cables behind my TV (if you have a Wii, you know how big is the original cable with sound and image separately). It doesn't feel very sturdy, but it works and looks ok behind the TV (can't really see it in our daily basis, because it is super small).Overall, does the job fine, for a decent price.Recommended.
