Should i get small or large for a 9 yr old?

Small. These are light weight but don't recommend buying large to grow into. If the player is average size 9 yr old. As a coach, instructor I would say small.

What size does a 12 year old need

Based on my daughters height and build I purchased the large. She is 11 and almost 5'5". They were a little big but not too much so she could grow into the by next year and still have enough cushion.

What size should I get for a 5'10, 120lb 14 year old?

I purchased the youth large of this brand last year. My son is 12, 5'5", and 115 lbs, and can still use these. I did not see an adult size for these, but I would guess you may want to look for an adult small or something like that.
