OSD Audio 6 Zone 12-Channel Multi Combination Amplifier, 60W/Channel, Commercial 70V/100V/8 Ohm with IR Remote - PAM1270

If zero stars were an option, I'd select zero. While refinishing our basement and setting up our whole-house speaker/sound system, we purchased this item in hopes to finally set up the system in our forever home. The basement took a bit longer than expected. When we took the Amp out of the box brand-new and hooked it up, it did not work!!!! This company refused to help us as it was past warranty! Utterly disappointed to spend this amount of money and open a product, new out of the box for it not to work, and receive zero compensation from the company.Given these circumstances, I warn customers to be wary of purchasing products from this company.

Fantastic! Extremely versatile and once I worked out the configuration I needed it all just worked. Once I connected my home control to an IP->RS232 converter and connected it to the PAM-1270, within minutes I had full control over each zone (a zone is two channels if you want it to be stereo): Positive Power on, Positive Power off, Positive commands also for volume up, volume down, mute on and mute off. No silly toggles where you're not sure of the device's state. Sound it great. Fantastic. Exactly what I was looking for. Hard to believe it's so affordable.

Same issue as another reviewer wrote. Lots of static coming from the amp. Spent countless hours troubleshooting the issue and verified it was coming from the amp. Happened with all volume turned down and no input plugged into the amp. Just the amp and a single speaker = static. Also used other speakers to verify it was just the amp. The company wants to issue a warranty replacement saying that their products are "reliable", but I'm over OSD audio products and just want a refund. I've lost time, money and credibility with my client because OSD audio has poor QA. They need to make this right, but care more about money than their customers.

It's been one year, and so far, OSD Multi-Zone has not failed. And rarely do I turn off the product. The device is running our office with 70v power. The inputs and outputs are isolated to each channel. However, it also offers 1 channel of an always-on constant stream feed leading to all channels. The remote is only okay because it is pretty simple, but it does the job of volume control. Each channel can be adjusted individually with the remote. There are a few other devices that does the same thing per spec, but for a more expensive price. Uncertain about the quality of sound though. The sound on the PAM1270 isn't bad. I do hear slight distortion when pushing too hard.

Says can mount to a standard rack. The manual says it must go on a rack with rear supports. Unlike Crown Audio with their non-standard rear brackets, this OSD style comes with no rear mounting plates nor do they sell one. Seems like you have to buy rails or a shelf to mount this in a rack... which... you can do with pretty much any 19" wide component.Contacted OSD Audio support a week ago and still no response.

Love the separate amps for every speaker in the house, compliments the surround sound very well.

Although it turned out my requirements and this amplifier didn't match exactly, the support I got via phone and email from OSD was far more than I expected, and perhaps the best I have ever seen for any product. My myriad questions were answered in detail and with great clarity. It made me want to buy from OSD again.
