4CLAWS Flat Scratching Pad (2 Pack, White) - Basics Collection Cat Scratcher

It took a lot of scanning to find this cat scratcher. Its well made, low profile, looks good, tight corrugated paper bound in a snow white plastic frame that doesnt slide on carpet. It can also be propped against a wall etc at an angle. I purchased 2 so that my Zoya can scratch away in the bedroom and living room without ruining my all white leather furniture. The pad can be flipped around and then over, so its actually like having 4 pads in one. This is really economical in the long run. My cat likes to alternate between these and the vertical rope. Even with her razor sharp claws she seems to do little damage, so I think these will last quite awhile. The shipping was quick too, so I recommend this product.

We have multiple cats. They all have different preferences. One likes to scratch verticle surfaces but we have another that prefers to scratch horizontal surfaces such as area rugs.We purchased these and placed them in the areas our floor scratching kitty likes the most and he immediately took to them! Our rugs have been saved!These last a really long time too - considering they're being torn to shreds on the daily. We havent even needed to flip them over to start using up the other side yet. The torn peices vacuum and sweep up easily. Nice product that we'll purchase again once our first set wears out.Note: If your cat hasnt shown an interest in scratching horizontal surfaces I doubt they'll take to this scratcher. Our vertical scratching cat doesnt pay any attention to this - so know your felines needs before buying just any scratcher.

This scratcher is more attractive and less obtrusive than competing products, more durable than most -- but less durable than I had hoped. Other reviews mention that it's made from compressed cardboard and less prone to quick shredding. Even so, my two cats seem to have no trouble plucking out bits of cardboard to scatter across the floor.Also unlike other scratchers, the 4CLAWS has no provision for catnip to attract cats' attention. My cats walked right past the two I bought, even when located in exactly the same spots as their previous scratchers. I had to grind up a little catnip to sprinkle on the top before they began to scratch -- and that catnip went right through to the floor.So not perfect, but attractive and somewhat better than most.

Hi,Here is a photo of our cat, Little Bear. No one believes we have a cat, because no-one ever sees her. This photo is of her under the bed, her favorite hiding place.Screen Shot 2016-07-28 at 11.52.46 AM.pngShe does comes out at times…to use her litter, to get petted, to eat her cat food….then back into hiding she goes. While out, she likes to sharpen her claws on the carpet and the dining room chairs. We cured her of the dining room chairs by covering the top of each leg with double-faced transparent tape. We are now trying to cure her of her habit of pulling up threads of the carpeting.So….we bought her some scratching pads:PastedGraphic-2.tiffWell, she ignored them, even through strategically placed at her favorite nail-sharpening location.So….we bought Cap-Nip and sprinkled it on the pads.She laid her head on the pads evidently in “cat heaven”.The Cat-Nip fell through, so we moved the pads and sprinkled more.There was Cat-Nip on the carpet next to the pads from the previous sprinkling.She napped on top of the Cat-Nip on the carpet.Happy CatUnhappy owners.Any suggestions?It is sad to be outsmarted by a cat. My cats like to scratch. So, I put these underneath the end tables in the living room to keep them away from the sofa. Cats hopped on these right away to scratch and lay on. They love them. No need to take up the ones in boxes that get ratty after a while. These can be left down when company comes. Two-sided, so they will last a long time. Great size for the camper, too.

Too small for cats! Photos make this look largd, but in fact, it is very short lengthwise and very narrow. This is a flat scratcher that lies in the floor with no sides or 'drain scrap' areas. You will be picking up all those little scraps that fly when your cat starts digging into the cardboard.Personally, this taught me and my boys a lesson. The cardboard encased scratchers are the best because they capture those flying pieces of scratched cardboard. Oh, they don't fit into a refillable cardboard box. I returned both that I bought.

Really disappointed in this scratcher. It was recommended when the ones I normally order were out of stock. It's a good size for a kitten but not a full grown cat. It is half as wide, doesn't attract the cat like the curved ones and was generally a waste of my money.

I bought this to make my parents shut up about my cat scratching their ugly couch. Personally I thought it added character but whatever. So anyway I bought expensive cat scratchers that my cat just walked around and pretended didn’t exist. That didn’t work. I bought sticky tape and she just pulled it off with her mouth. I bought a spray honestly didn’t try it because I also bought this at the same time. So I unbox it, put them down in two separate parts of the house and my cat walks right up sits on top and starts scratching away and hasn’t touched the ugly couch since. I was shocked because i thought “oh these things are just cardboard noway it’ll hold her in place”. But yup. So buy it to protect your hopefully beautiful couch.
