Should be required reading for every member of Congress, ...
Should be required reading for every member of Congress, not to mention a part of any class that purports to give an honest look at U.S. History. An articulate dissection of the multiple lies used by the military, media, and arms merchants to support our illegal and utterly failed militarism, every lie illuminated using incontrovertible facts. Eye opening in so many ways.

Passionate Research
David Swanson is one of the world's acknowledged toilers in obscurity to get rid of wars. His writing rings with passion, wisdom, and painstaking historical research. He documents all his statements with a journalist's precision. This book is a superb historical reference work. Anyone with an interest in turning our world away from the abyss should read this book and use its citations to make the case in every debate and every conversation with intelligent people who show the slightest sign of being tired of wars and the inhuman conditions wars beget.

Everyone should read this book.
Wow! I was in the army from 1966 to 1969. Enlisted to avoid the draft. Makes sense out of what I have thought about the senselessness of war. Swanson has done the research and puts into words many things I have thought about. The senselessness of war.

War is over, if you want it (said John). Still true. This explains very clearly why.
Everyone should know this, and we wouldn't be in such a mess. How to get those who don't already agree is the hard part, and this book shows its exasperation with the World Order a bit too clearly. I mean, I agree and am pissed too, but a cool objective argument, at least in the opening chapters might hold more American readers for longer. I think much of the rest of the world gets this, so they will love it as is. Patriotic gun-loving, war-loving Americans won't read this, even though they are the ones who most need to.

Don't Accept the Lies the Politicans Give to Justify Wars
Swanson documents how we “little people” called citizens have been lied to about war, using the same bromides and slogans, since the beginning of the country. This book, and Ron Paul’s book “Plowshares” should be read by anyone interested in pursuing a happy life without the eternal wars to which we have been subject.

Read this and weep, then hopefully work for change
Tells truths about the US most Americans would not like to face. Swanson makes the case that continuing on this (war)path will eventually lead to multiple crises here, not to mention the misery these misguided and wasteful policies have caused elsewhere. But true days of decision are coming, and if course is corrected, perhaps we can all be proud of a more constructive country.

Easy reading and captivating as one reads along
David gives a thorough summary of the many wars we have undertaken and shown how the government canives and lies us into believing that we need the wars for our security. Easy reading and captivating as one reads along.

American Righteousness
This is a must read. It excellently exposes the true history of American "righteousness" and exceptionalism in our military quest for world economic dominance.

Very very interesting
Great book to understand how the governments lie to the public opinion to go to war against the interests of the people.
