I gave these knee pads to my son, so asked him about them.He said he liked that they had a hard outer cover which made kneeling on rocky soil,& gravel walkways more comfortable. It worked well with the inner padding. He thought these knee pads were better than others he has had. They all slip a little.The reason for the 4 star grade is a minor complaint. On the inner padding there is a pocket. It gets dirt inside that is a bit hard to brush out. He thought this pocket must be for extra padding if someone wanted it. He has only used them for gardening so couldn't say about their use in other projects.
