Satisfied to have bought it on sale.
I got this for around $30, and for that price, it's a great "homage" to a Filson bag, but the quality is uneven. Don't expect this to be a high-end smart/casual briefcase or a super-durable bag.The external material is a nicely durable canvas (decent balance between rugged and flimsy), and the interior lining is a soft cotton. This is subjective, but the organization of pockets and dividers is great for what I carry: A laptop, a few pens and other bits of office material, some cords, a few odd folders with papers and notepads, and perhaps a couple small notebook and books. I could jam some more stuff in there if I needed to, so the size is great. The pockets are even nicely sized to fit a tablet. It's a slightly tall bag, still slim, but doesn't feel cramped or unnecessarily large. The reason I wouldn't pay the full price for this bag is that the quality of the fixtures is not high. The leather appears to be actual leather, but it is not high quality, and there is noticeably little of it. For instance, the leather handle wraps feel sort of nice, but just a bit more leather would have been easier to hold on to, and prevented the strap from flexing too much in the hand -- these minor things would dramatically improve the hand comfort. The two snap closures feel cheapish, and the zippers are not of an especially durable variety, something like a low-end Jansport backpack. The handles do not feel very strongly anchored to the bag, which makes me think that wear and tear from normal carrying will be an issue at some point. Same for the strap, although I've definitely seen worse. It's still a useful bag, but I would have given this five stars is the trimmings were as nice as the main shell. My last complaint is a minor one. that the branding is a little too prominent. All in all, very satisfied for what I paid.
