The handle does not extend. It does drop down when you collapse / fold the cart. There is an attachment that will hold the handle upright. Hope this helps.

No. It sucks dragging that thing on the beach. You’ll want something with wider and taller tires.

Q: Is there a piece that goes at the bottom of the cart to make it flat? Mine didn’t come with one.

The cart is assembled except for the wheels and the plastic thing that the handle fits into. If I need a flat surface, I just put a flattened cardboard box in the bottom then load it up.
