22 Years of Sambas and Still in Love
If you look for it, you'll see that there are a lot of folks out there who wear the Adidas Samba Classic. (I'm one of them.) The next time you see someone wearing a pair, ask them how long they've been a Sambas wearer. In my life I've asked dozens of people, and I'd put the over/under on the answer at 10 years. What is it about this shoe that makes people come back, pair after pair, for decades? First off, they go with a lot of outfits. When they're new, they're classy enough that you can even get away with them in a situation when you'd normally need dress shoes.Next, they are comfortable. Really, really, really comfortable. The shoes come with a foam sole and a leather body that fit like a cardboard box when you first put them on, but in a week have completely molded to the shape of your foot. It's an incredible feeling, like a custom shoe made just for you. I've tried wearing my friend's Sambas in the same size, and boy was it weird. Like a completely different shoe. Not like "Oh I can tell the difference" weird, but "Oh wow I need to take these off immediately" weird. The main downside to the Samba is that because they're so pliant they wear out pretty quickly. If you wear them every day they probably won't last a full year before they start to look and feel beat up. Fortunately they're very reasonably priced. I get these 3-4 pairs at a time to save the hassle. If you've never had a pair before, which you haven't if you're bothering with product reviews, I can't urge you enough to try them out.

Big Annoying Tongue
The shoes fit as expected, but the tongue on the modern Samba is huge. Annoyingly huge. I watched a video on how to 'fold-over' the tongue and relace the shoes, effectively shortening the tongue, and supposedly the awkward feeling this causes above my toes, due to the tongue being folded over, will go away soon. It's been a week and the awkward feeling is still there. If you're looking to use these shoes specifically for soccer and want the long tongue, they're great. If they're going to serve a dual purpose for you, sport shoe and casual wear, I might have to recommend getting the OG Samba or switching over to a Gazelle or similar models by a competitor.

Sambas are my go-to sneaker
Maybe I'm biased, but I love these sneakers. This is my fifth pair of Adidas Sambas so I know how these fit and feel. Why do I keep getting them? Because they last forever, they're comfortable and they go with almost everything I wear. I also find that the price point on these sneakers is right where I want to be when purchasing footwear. I refuse to waste money and these sneakers prove their value. I have had pairs of these last for several years. Yeah they do wear out but when they do I just buy another pair and then use the old ones for mowing lawns and other dirty work. They hide dirt well, take damage and keep going. The soles are solid enough to last and there's decent arch support inside. I personally find them extremely comfortable. And who can argue with the classic black and white? The ones I ordered showed a tan sole (which is what I normally get) however I received the black sole version (which I think is a nice little change) so no complaints there. They're already my daily wear sneakers again (after about a five year hiatus of buying other Adidas styles) and I have decided I will be wearing these as long as Adidas keeps making them, or until I die.

Stylish
I've come to the conclusion, that people just like to complain... I'm really not understanding the negative comments. The shoe was approximately $60. To put it in perspective, that's like one trip to Whole Foods.Anyway, I've seen statements about these being knock offs, those comments are due to pure ignorance.First and foremost, these are the originals / classics. There's another version of these shoes which is called the OG's. The OG's have a shorter tongue and a rougher suede strip. The tongue is longer (on the classics), because it is a soccer shoe.In order to shorten the tongue, all a person would have to do is, unlace the top part of the shoe, position the tongue down and insert the shoe string through the tongue loop at a lower position.Problem rectified. If you're wearing these shoes every day, expect wear and tear. People are spending $60 on these shoes, but are complaining as if they expect to receive $400 Allen Edmond quality.Really? Come on, folks. No complaints on my end.

Always have a pair
It's a classic. I always love the Sambas. They are comfortable and stylish. I always have a pair in my closet. Currently, I have 2; one old pair for and the house and working in the garage, and one newer pair for out and about.
