Great!!
This thing kind of looks like a toy squirtgun, so I wasn't sure how well it would work in the field. I was pleasantly surprised. One of the features that I really like about it is the adjustable range on the sensitivity adjustment knob. It will go from not beeping till the object is actually touching the tip, to out to about 1 1/2 inches away. I use a penny for this, and like to keep it tuned to where it senses it at 1/2inch away. Also, I like being able to turn off the sound and just use vibrate. I've read some revues where people had machanical problems with this, so I'm keeping the warrantee. When I can afford it I will get a Gerard "pro-pointer" for the proximity feature, but for now, this pointer is GREAT!!

Waste of money. It works, but not well, and not worth the money paid for it.
Don't waste your money - get the Garret solid black handheld - this is basically a toy, its not built to last at all and the sensitivity setting wheel is from a 1970's movie toy...

Mine isn't so great
This probe is terrible, it functions the exact same way the $15 probe wizard sells, its made of very cheap plastic and I couldn't imagine actually taking it out in the field it certainly wouldn't last more than one or two outings. I wasn't sure what probe to buy for metal detecting after searching through all the probes this one seemed to be the highest quality but apparently I was wrong. It has a little white knob to adjust the sensitivity but it doesn't actually do anything but make the thing scream even when your no where close to a metal object. You have to touch the probe tip directly to the metal before the thing will vibrate or beep. Just imagine a childrens play gun at the dollar store and this is what you have. It amazes me that $49.95 can't buy you a descent pinpointer. If your considering buying this probe I really would look into buying one of the more expensive ones, this isn't worth the time that its going to take to box it up and send it back.

OK for the $$ - But Lacks Sturdiness
As with most things, you get what you pay for. This pointer works OK for the money but feels very fragile & I keep thinking it will break. I wrapped it in duct tape to give it a little more stability & protection. I also have a MineLab Pin Pointer - much more sensitive & solid as a rock - but more than double the price. I'd say if your an occasional user in dry conditions this would work OK for you. But if you are a relic hunter like me who is often digging in wet soil & needs something more durable - spend the additional $$ for a MineLab or Garrett.

Makes detecting fun
Have been out with this item now on four occasions.Works as described and has made the hobby of detecting much more enjoyable.Hardest part, locating coins, is now quick and simple.Would recommend to anyone for a starter. Can't comment on durability, as have only used for maybe 20 hours.

Wizard Vib Probe II Pinpointing Metal Detector
I bought this to replace my $100+ Whites bullseye II pinpointer. It works as it should. I like that it has a dial to turn it on instead of a push button. The push button had to be held down on the Whites and was messed up. You had to push it just right and then I broke the wand off. Since this model has a opening for the dial and trigger it might let some dirt in but if it's tuned in before your hands are dirty hopefully it won't be a problem. Time will tell. They also expedited my shipping so I got it a week earlier than expected.

pin pointer
I bought this a year ago and still use it every time I go out metal detecting I wouldn't go out with out it. I just hope they don't stop making these because if it ever wears out or gets misplaced I will get another one. this is a great pin pointer. After I find something with my detector I use it to locate the coin with in a couple inches and then fine tune to get even closer once detected. It is adjustable to 3 inches or so to touch. The first thing I did was disconnect the alarm the vibrate mode is good enough.

works ok but hard to get used to
Maybe I haven't used this enough but the few times that I have used it the results were somewhat "spotty" . It seems as if you almost have to have the tip of the wand on the metal object for it to activate the buzzer? I will continue to use and give another report if things improve. If I had it to do over I might opt for a more expensive tool?
