Cats hate it, but it does keep their teeth clean!
First of all, my cats hate this stuff. Pretty sure your cat will, too. So if you're not willing to wrestle your cat into submission, steer clear, lol. We use this once a day, one droplet on each side of the mouth for effectiveness. Two days a week we will use a toothbrush and this gel to brush their teeth, too. During vet visits, they complimented on how clean our cats' teeth were, so it is doing something, though it could be just the brushing that does it. They've never had any ill effects from the gel, other than hating the flavor (sometimes, one of our cats drools a little to get the taste out of their mouth, so this may happen with yours).

Reduced gum inflammation and redness in three days!
I bought this for my young cat who was a rescue with a bad case of gingivitis. The vet said she would start losing her teeth in a few years. I stopped using it when in the follow up visit, I was told that toothpaste works better. Well, the daily toothpaste ritual made her stop trusting me, so I stopped. She bonded to me as a sick kitten, and breaking that trust was not going to improve our lives together. I recently noticed that her gums were seriously red and inflamed. I decided to give this gel another try. She doesn't love it, but it is soooo much better than the toothpaste. She tolerates it, and it does not lead to mistrust. Her gums started getting better after three days. It's been almost two weeks, and they are almost a normal color. The one thing that I recommend is NOT USING THE DROPPER that comes with the bottle. It just shoots a big blob into the cat's mouth, and the cat swallows the blob without it getting on teeth or gums. It's useless and a waste of money. Use a small veterinary syringe, and try to carefully apply it to the gums by sliding the tip of the small syringe between the lips and the gum.

Cats refused to drink water treated with this!
My cats refused to drink water treated with this product. I’ve used another treatment in the past which worked and all 3 cats had no problems dinking. This however was a complete different story: We started having behavioral issues that had never been a problem in the past. Think drinking out the toilet, jumping into the kitchen sink and even drinking out of our glass we set down. Today I put it together when I went to refill thier water bowls and they were still full… I remembered that they full yesterday and the day before as well. I realized all these strange new bad behaviors were them finding a source for water that was not thier bowls. I dumped out the water, cleaned the bowls and filled them with water, no treatment. They came running and immediately lapped up the water like I’ve never seen them do! I felt so had be yelling at them when they were just trying to get good water to drink. To think: this stuff is so bad my cats would rather drink from the toilet !

Nice and fresh breath
My cat seems to like it, at least she doesn't run away when she sees me putting it on the brush. I can't imagine using a toothpaste that smells like chicken, beef or fish like many of them.
