Q: Can this work on home wash machines?

I have been using this filter on the cold water line to my washing machine for about 6 months, (swapped filters out at 4/5 months, but it will vary depending on how much you wash I guess), but YES IT ABSOLUTELY MAKES A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LAUNDRY! I live in Central Florida and we have hard awful tasting water on tap, so there was plenty of room for improvement, but I didn’t expect to get the great results I did. I now do my laundry with as few chemicals as possible. I use a pure soap, and then add 1/3 cup vinegar to the rinse cycle, and dryer balls in the dryer. I was doing this before but my laundry wasn’t coming out soft and fluffy. Now, using the filter and the same system, my aging towels come out of the dryer soft as the new ones at BBB, with no scent-like clean should smell (sometimes Ill add a couple drops of Lavender Essential Oils onto the dryer balls if Im feeling fancy), and they remain soft and odor free even after a couple uses. In case your wondering if my results were psychosomatic, as a result of my wishful thinking that my project was indeed giving me good results. I did remove the filter while doing some plumbing reconfigurations and ran the machine a few times without the filter. I was immediately reminded how much of a difference it makes. Towels felt rough and clothes weren’t as soft and didnt look as “fresh”. So I have it hooked up again and am a convert for life. *Ive never had any problem with the filter, no leaks, nothing. However, my tip would be to add quick shut offs before the filter if you dont have 1/4 turn washer hose bib hook-ups, and if you have crazy water pressure add a pressure regulator before the filter to lower the psi below 90 PSI. I always assume every pipe will burst and plan accordingly. Happy Laundering!
