Maybe Too Easy for Middle School
I was hoping this would work well in my middle school classroom. It wowed them the first day, but then interested dropped quickly. The kit says it works for up to 4 students, but only if they are working on completely separate projects. I'd say this is better suited to 2 students, or 1 really. Probably better for upper elementary rather than middle schoolers as well, given that it is pretty basic. Kids today don't seem to "dabble" as much as previous generations so the novelty of this kit can wear off once they've built everything.

So disappointed. Got it and it was obviously used
So disappointed. Got it and it was obviously used. For this kind of money everything should have been new.

Great lesson kit for young minds
Expensive....but valuable. My son is almost 7 and this is his second LittleBits kit. He's the type of little builder that loves legos, minecraft, and really anything in which he can assemble and then modify to his desire. The creativity of the kit is that its not just setup for the lessons, but can be creatively used to build. He's already designed a 'robot arm' and space car along with completing about half of the lesson book/instruction manual.I have to say that production quality is improving, or my last set was preproduction. Much more effort and production finish was put into the lesson manual. Each lesson has the methods, explains the pieces and then has a section for introspection and creative thinking. He's not much of a writer at 7, but we talk through his creations, why he built them and what they could be used for in real like or even his imaginary one. I hope to continue adding pieces to this kit so that he can build even more complex rube goldberg type machines.-1 star for being so darn expensive. This kit should really cost half as much as it does - Lego kits, albeit without motors or circuits, are considered expensive at $100. tripling that without a visible reason for the cost increase will limit those willing to spend for it. If this is marketed for the classroom, I hope that there is a discount for schools.
