When I first received this air flosser, I thought it did not work. It made weird grinding noises and no air came out. So, I followed the instructions and charged it for 24 hours. But there was no improvement and the same thing happened. So, having read other reviews, I assumed it was defective and I was ready to return it. However, I removed the nozzle and water came out. I replaced the nozzle with the other one that came with it and it has worked fine ever since. I rinsed out the "defective" nozzle and now it works too. I noted that the instruction book suggests rinsing out the nozzles after use. So, I might suggest that if you think you have a defective device, check out the nozzle to see if it is blocked before you send it back. We have not had any more problems and have found this flosser improves our dental checkups.

I love this flosser. I tried the WaterPik and I was really disappointed in its operation ... It is EXTREMLY messy to use! The Sonicare Airfloss is easy to use, has a long battery life and has made a huge difference in my dental check ups. It is great for home or travel. If you are only gone a week you don't even need to bring the charger if it is fully charged. With Sonic Airfloss you get to control when and where you want the forced water to go. With the WaterPik it is a continuous stream of forced water that ends up going everywhere! On the mirror, your clothes, the countertop! The Sonicare Aifloss is the best way to floss.
