100% recommend. Installation was a breeze, even thought my door frame was not flushed flat. Within minutes, my sliding patio door felt more secure than ever. The double-deadbolt mechanism is ingenious, effectively preventing the door from being lifted or pried open.What really stands out is the child safety aspect. I installed it high enough to keep my curious toddler nephews and nieces from reaching it, giving me peace of mind. The lock's sleek design doesn't detract from our door's appearance, which is a nice bonus.The build quality is excellent, with sturdy materials that feel like they'll last for years. It's compatible with our metal sliding door, but it's great to know it works with wood too.While the price point is reasonable for the security it provides, I did notice it can be a bit tricky to align perfectly on some door types. However, once installed correctly, it works flawlessly.

The illustrations in the directions were slightly confusing, but once I figured out exactly the components of the lock fit together and where they went on the door and frame, it all made perfect sense. It took me about 30 minutes to figure it out and install it start to finish. That includes gathering the tools needed and cleaning up the shavings (from drilling the holes) after installation.It was always annoying having to use a stick of some kind to make sure the sliding glass door was secure. This lock eliminates the need for that and more. I've seen how easily sliding doors can be lifted out of their track from the outside even when locked, and this device prevents that since it has locks on the top and bottom. The door cannot move up or down at all with this lock. When the original lock on the door is locked, the door still has some play in all directions. With this device locked, the door is absolutely solid. There is zero movement whatsoever in any direction.It looks sleek and can't be seen from the outside. I love everything about this lock and highly recommend it.

Discovered this type of sliding door latch in a resort in Lake Tahoe -- even though it's a simple and intuitive latch, it's rugged and 100% autistic-child-with-elopement-issues-proof. Really impressed by the latch. Back home, ordered 2 to secure sliding glass doors that currently are secured with screw-on rail-blocking widgets. This is SO MUCH BETTER! It stays on the door, it's tough as a rock and easy to use. (Unlike the screw-on widgets there's no danger of undertightening or simply misplacing the lock, leading to disaster.)Installation is simple -- NOT as simple as, say, sticking a 3" barrel bolt on a door -- but simple. And VERY well-described in the directions that come with the locks.Overall, this is a RARE find. It's a simple, straightforward, tough and reliable alternative to the frankly mediocre door locks we have available. Couldn't be happier.

This door lock is awesome! It definitely does its job, this door won’t budge now.I had some issues with install initially because my door tracks are deep and the spacers provided weren’t enough. I reached out in an email to TOUGHBOLT asking for a solution, and they were so quick to respond, and sent me more spacers the very next day.Installing was actually very simple, took no more than 15 minutes. Instructions were simple to follow and they give everything you need besides a drill bit and screwdriver.It looks good, it feels secure, and I feel safe.10/10 would recommend this to anyone needing a lock for a sliding door. And bravo to the company for taking care of its customers!

Great product design. Lines up and works nice and fluid. Add some torque to screws when installing and alignment ends up off. Required dremel work to get lock to work like butter. Check and recheck lock position, I had to place it lower than I wanted. Tip - level door, clean track/rollers before attempting install

Easy to install only taking about 20 minutes. Our builder did not use the best quality doors in our home and it seemed especially our back sliding door. I knew that I didn't want one of those bars that keep the door from opening and couldn't find anything I liked at lowes or home depot. After putting this on it got rid of any play in the door when locked. It is very easy to install and way to lock.

Only secured with 2 small screws. Returned to get something better.

These work great on a 3 piece patio door. Many locks don't work when you have 3 stacking doors instead of 2, so I had to return a few locks until I found this one. Great extra security.
