Masking Products 2 Mil Polyimide Masking Tapes are made from a polyimide film with 1.5 mil silicone adhesives. These tapes have been used in applications at temperatures as low as -269 degree C (-452 degree F) and as high as 400 degree C (752 degree F). Polyimide masking tapes offer a unique combination of electrical, thermal, chemical and mechanical properties that withstand extreme temperature, vibration and other demanding environments. Polyimide tapes are used in a range of industries including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, industrial, solar photovoltaic and wind energy applications. They have a high dielectric strength. Applicable for automotive sensor and manifolds, insulating circuit boards, etching, fiber optics cable, high temperature powder coating, semiconductor manufacturing, wave soldering during circuit board assembly, high temperature masking, solar panels, insulation on transformers, motors and coils. Thin and conformable enabling masking of uneven surfaces. Wide operating temperature range up to 500 degree F. Removes cleanly without adhesive residue after exposure to heat or chemical. High strength backing provides superior resistance to puncture and tear. Excellent electrical insulation. Film thickness: 2 Mil. Adhesive thickness: 1.5 Mil. Total thickness: 3.5 Mil. Adhesion to steel: 25 oz//inch. Tensile strength: 50 (lbs/inch). Elongation: greater than 50 percent. Dielectric strength: 11000 volts. Insulation class, centigrade: 180 degree C. Temperature resistance: 500 degree F (260 degree C). Resistance to acids, oils, solvents: Excellent. RoHS Compliant. They conform to ASTM D 3652.
