Great, up-to-date terraform book
Bought this for my husband for Christmas! He's an engineer and finishing his bachelor's in computer science. He loves all things programming, so I looked for the newest version of a terraform or chef cookbook that was out and found this! He was so pleased it was released in 2020 as he was afraid I'd get him something outdated. He's learned a ton already and is really enjoying reading this.

How to do it? Or not?
I'm starting off and I'm already confused. The very beginning of this book leaves so much to be desired. I think it assumes too much and the references to the github chapters are a friggin mess. I don't recommend this to anyone who has no backend in Terraform. I really don't know who this book was written for.

Practical Book
I was looking for a book that not just explains some basics, but also goes into advanced topics and explains some details. Seems I found it.

Structured, very useful and detailed information
I had the chance to read this book and I was really pleased by its content.noting that this is not the first book or terraform material that I read, I would say that this book contains valuable structured information with also access to code used in various chapters.it is certainly an asset for those starting their journey with terraform.

Technically deep and well structured
Even though it's a highly technical book, it is laid out brilliantly to address the fundamentals. Highly recommend for building a foundation

Good, only after watching Terraform Azure YouTube training videos.
This book has good content, just not tied well in my opinion. If I had written this book for each cookbook how-to example I would have created a tab box above the code naming the chapter/excercise that matches Github code better. Some examples are furnished with the author giving you where in his Github code (chapter N, <exercise-name> to follow along. Some elements of Terraform in the earlier chapters are said to be in later chapters so as a learner this breaks any continuity and is a little frustrating. The market on Terraform books is still weak and the upcoming Terraform in Action by Manning Press is one I like to see if that changes anything. This is not to be negative reviewer, but I would lower expectations and just use the book to get the 'concepts' of modules, output. variables, data blocks, data sources and workspaces. Then I would just go through Terraform website and learn there.

The book is fine but ...
It is not that the book is not helpful but it is written for Azure. Unfortunately Terraform scripts are written specifically for the underlying platform and so none of this was terribly helpful for someone looking for AWS assistance.

Excellent book
Finally a book that covers deployments in Azure instead of AWS. But the lessons learned can be applied to AWS, GCP and so on.I've enjoyed the book as it covers topics in detail with easy to follow examples. To my suprise it covered a wide range of topics (Terragrunt, Ansible, Azure DevOps, Sentinel). The author kept his wording and sentences simple making it an easy to read book. It will definitely help people get started on Terraform and will give new insights to the more experienced users. If a Hashicorp employee is reading this: please hire this guy to write your documentation and learning libraries.

A great learning resource
I am currently on the learning curve using Azure , this book is a great blend covering many aspects of terraform in Azure which was great, from backends to loops and things like vault data and many other items.
