Q: Will the Minimoog Model D fit in this case?

Definitely not. The Behringer Poly D is several inches smaller than the Minimoog Model D and so is the Analog case for the Behringer (I can tell you as an owner of both)

Q: Is this case strong enough to be checked luggage in a plane?

honestly I think it would go through baggage check a few times but not too many because it's not a real flight case although it is sturdy and tight. The only problem is that it's completely insecure, there is no type of lock that would keep anyone from opening it along the way. So it would need probably to be taped or strapped up for any kind of security and then probably they'd want to look inside and so forth so probably using this to check as baggage is not a good idea in any case. That being said, it is a nice case and while smaller and probably made of cheaper materials, it is similar to the "suitcase" that was provided with some of the original Minimoog Model D's I can say that as an owner of said case back in the 70s.
