Q: So this tape has glue on it to stick to glass?

Yes. You remove the tape backing. As you're doing this it's applying the vinyl bulb with the adhesive strip to stick to the glass edge.

Q: Will this item work on both sides of a frameless shower door? the hinge and non-hinge sides?

I do not think it will work for the non-hinge side. It can work for the hinge side but that depends on the spacing and the type of hinge. If it is just slightly too small then the water will seep through, if it is slightly too big and the door will bind. I did not use the piece I bought because it was just a bit off and instead used a stepped double sweep as it could account for more of a variance.

Q: Can I get this product without pre applied tape?

I don’t know the answer to that question. You will have to ask the supplier or the manufacturer. We wanted the tape as we attached it to a glass Shower door to help keep the water in the shower. It worked perfectly.

I do not have a micrometer to measure it, but the thickness of the tape is almost as thick as the flat base of the seal.
