As good as the manufacturer claims they are.
Bought these to replace some old Derwent Studio pencils I've had for an aeon. The quality is good and the blending capability is excellent. As I was shading the little boxes on the DIY colour chart that comes with the set I found myself smiling. I think some of the shades are a little close to one another so there could be fewer pencils and the pencils as laid out in the trays don't all correspond to the chart so some rearranging is necessary if you want to use the chart for quick reference. The only real minus if there is one, is that the numbers and colour names are printed in reflective silver making it difficult to read quickly. Especially if like me your eyesight isn't that great. and that's where having the pencils sorted according to the chart comes in handy. As far as the leads go, they're pigment rich, soft enough that you can get some really nice blends going on. but hard enough that you don't use the entire pencil trying to fill in a block of colour. As with all colouring pencils their can be a little bit of streaking. I've had that with super expensive pencils so it's not fault here. And really, for this price, this set is really good value for the money. The pencil sharpeners are decent enough, the insert trays aren't flimsy and the pencils are a good diameter as are the leads. I was worried I'd be buying an inferior product but I'm very happy with these pencils. There really isn't any point spending out on more expensive products from the big name manufacturers with something as good as this for such a decent price. The tin these come is good enough, (although I would suggest to the manufacturer that hinged lid would be preferable), but you don't need to go spending out on a wooden case set unless you plan on field trips to sketch waterfalls and mountains. So in short, yes, these can give you results like the product images show. Take your time to organise the trays properly and fill in the DIY colour chart and you can't go wrong. Big thumbs up from me.

What a bargain!!!
Value for money 10/10. This is an amazing price for such a complete colouring experience, all its missing is a rubber. After using your pencil of choice it leaves a wrather shiny finish on the paper. For the smoothness of the pencil I would say it is a bit rough but this could depend on the paper you use. Wonderful range of colours, for such a good price you get an huge amount of shades, and even metallic ones too! When using them in the colouring book given with the set, it gives a much smoother sensation. Compared to Faber Castle Polychrome pencils these are of equal quality and an excellent product to buy instead of spending over £100 on some colouring pencils. In this kit you get: colouring book, sketch pad (100 GSM), 4 sharpeners, 2 pencil extenders and your 174 pencils in a metal tin. The colours lay down really nicely on the sketch pad and colouring book given. The shape of the pencils mean that your hands won't hurt as much whilst using them as they are a rounded shape instead of hexagonal, like a regular pencil. The tin provides amazing protection for the pencils and there is no need to switch over to a fabric pencil case, as the trays inside are easy to remove with slots to hold them. Overall I would say this product is amazing and it is hard to believe that pencils of such cheap price can be such good quality, but they are. I 100% recommend this product if you are looking for some colouring pencils. :)

Excellent value & good choice for beginners
An excellent set of 138 coloured pencils. Easy to handle and use, giving a smooth application of colour. (Okay the pigment density is probably not quite as great as for professional grade pencils such as Polychromos but it's still pretty good when you consider you're paying GPP 31.00 for 138 pencils whereas for Polychromos you pay GBP157.00 for 120!) Also, I suspect the lightfastness is not that great but unless you're going to sell your work these are fine.I like the nice, clear, large labelling on the pencils which I can read easily. (Am I the only person who needs a magnifying glass to read the names on Prismacolour pencils?) You get a decent colour chart (see photo) and I have re-ordered the pencils in the trays in the order that they are on the colour chart (see photo). The plastic trays provided are quite a tight fit - not sure how long I will keep the pencils in these.Good selection of colours. A few quibbles: "Nude" is not the name of a colour (manufacturer please note) as it would depend on skin tone; and FYI, Cadmium Yellow does not have a greenish cast. The so-called "metallic" colours are just a desaturated version of the base colour and are quite useful (I imagine they're called metallic for marketing purposes; if you think colouring an object with the metallic gold pencil will make it look like real gold, you're in for a shock! Metallic surfaces look "metallic" because of the reflections.)Well designed packaging - a nice tin inside a carboard box - hopefully this will protect the pencil leads against breakage during transport. The sketch pad (30 sheets, 100 gsm) and colouring book are just a shade smaller than A5, The colouring book has printing on both sides of the page but the paper is good quality so bleed-through shouldn't be much of a problem.Overall: excellent value for money.

Looked good.
Item was as described however the tin was all dented and some of the pencils had broken tips because of it. So having to return and rebuy. But they looked vibrant, plenty of colour choice. I did swatch one and was semi soft and looked like they would blend nicely. Will update when I've used them more.

good quality pencils at a reasonable price
I have tried a number of colour pencils Castle Arts Premium and Gold, Brutfuner etc. to find some that I can use as an alternative to my Polychromos set for general purpose drawing. These ShuttleArt pencils have come the closest in feel and sharpness. Although not quite at pigmented, they hold the point well and are very good for the darker colours. The colouring book and sketch pad are only A5 size - OK if you have nothing else but don't add a great deal. This is a very good starter set.
