As my first-ever backup-camera-in-a-mirror, I am very happy with this unit.My application is on a 2006 Ford Escape.The mirror is clear with no sign that it serves as a monitor until the car is placed in reverse. Some of the other mirror's I've seen, including those that you strap to your existing mirror, have a blue hue. This one is crystal clear. The auto-dimming feature at night is great too - it dims the headlights from behind just enough to remove their glaring, but you can still easily pick out the following cars reflected in the mirror.The documentation on install is almost useless, but you really don't need any other than perhaps a brief description on how the fuse extender is to be used.The fuse extender works to provide you a separate fuse for the mirror.1) Check your owners manual and locate a basic fuse, such as dome lights, sunroof, etc. Don't pick items like alarm or radio as you'll need to disconnect the fuse briefly and you probably don't want to reset your radio stations.2) Remove that fuse, and place it into the first slot of the fuse extender.3) Install the supplied 5amp fuse that came with the mirror into the second slot of the fuse extender.4) Wire the end of the fuse extender into the power cable from the mirror.5) Install the completed fuse extender into the slot you first removed the fuse.The devices your fuse controlled are now available, unaltered. The new fuse only handles the power feed to the mirror.Pros:Good solid mirror construction. I purchased a different one from my local auto parts store for $7.I will say this unit is a good buy if you want to replace your existing mirror. This is not a strap on, but a complete replacement. Store your original mirror that you removed in a safe place in case you need to go back to stock.I did purchase the ARECORD AR142 camera - I wanted to keep the mirror and camera from the same manufacturer to reduce and chances of failure on my first backup mirror.

So far so good. I do like it. Only fault I have with it is directions are none existent. You'll have to look at what they send and figure out what works best for your situation. On the plus side, they give you several adapters, just have to figure out the one you need.

well worth the money, defiantly a great addition to my 93 chevy c1500 since i installed the roll pan. kit came with everything and enough wiring to run through the cab, love it. id say the quality of this product is equal or better quality and resolution to that of my 2012 Camaro's rear view.

Great camera display and the auto dimming works perfectly (and instantly).

I installed this mirror in my F150 and it works geat. I have tinted windows and I have no issues with the mirror.

This is a mirror, and there is a monitor in it. That's it, though. The mirror does not auto dim, even the screen does not show any adjustment for ambient light, and the screen is visible when off in moderate or bright light. The first one I got I sent back because it did not auto dim, however the replacement didn't either, so I gave up on it.

Excellent works well in bright sunlight and at night.
