I can't wait for the next volume!!
I really enjoyed this manga. It has a a decent story that has both the supernatural fun and mysterious happenings that make you want to keep reading and looking for more clues as to what is really going on. I kept finding myself drawn in and looking for answers, like who Yue really is, and what is this "meal" really about. What about the strange town and the disappearances and train that doesn't ever stop at its station. The artwork is beautiful, especially the character designs. It is a good first volume that had mystery, drama and humor and even some surprises at the end, that left me hungry for more. I can't wait for the next volume.

Good series overall, but first book doesn't draw you in
I'm going to review the whole series here. Honestly the first book is really not very good. It's very confusing and it's not until the middle of the series where we start to figure out what's going on and things make better sense. Overall I liked the series a lot and once I got into it I couldn't stop reading it. The final book is the ninth book and then the 10th is just a series of short stories and easily skippable. But one major drawback was the books are really short . I think I read all 10 and only three hours .

it's so muddled and with thin lines that it's hard to see what a character really looks like or the movement of characters
I can't say much about the plot as this is only the first volume but it sounds generic so far. The real issue is the art; it's so muddled and with thin lines that it's hard to see what a character really looks like or the movement of characters. I'm not going to continue reading or buying. For this manga genre, Kore Yamazaki or Aya Shouoto offer better work.

Poor quality
The manga has a burn hole in a cover and was a hopefully former (withdrawn) library book. Very poor quality and not "used acceptable" at all. It also took 3 1/2 weeks to arrive.

Ehh
~3/5Yue doesn’t get out much, and when he goes out to a festival, he meets a couple guys, and is determined to make them his friends. Yue has good intentions, but the heads of the shrine he lives at decides that one of the boys will be his “meal”.Honestly, I was hoping this would be better. Mostly, it just didn’t stand out to me.The characters are okay, and the plot line will surely get more interesting and intense as the story goes on. The artwork is pretty, and I see the comparison to Natsume’s Book of Friends though the feel is pretty different here, but mostly I just wasn’t pulled in.It felt a little meh to me, and makes me iffy on picking up another volume.[More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.]
