Not working
There is somthing wrong with the product. It's not prompting the start up when connected to my laptop or my phone. I want a refund or an exchange of item.

Died in 1 week. Think twice before you buy.
Broken down and died after 1 week. I called Seagate, the told me it could happen because the drive is very sensitive!!! How can that be an excuse!! I lost all my data.The 1 star is for Amazon. Returned withought question.

Good but not useable as both a Time Machine back up storage and a external drive
Great product BUT, if you have a Mac and are doing your backups in Time Machine, you should know that if you use this as your storage, you can ONLY store the Time Machine backups on it. Nothing else. This means you can't drag folders or add extra photos or anything like this.Also, it does take a bit of figuring out to format the disk to be compatible to do the Time Machine backups, but once that's done it works fine.

The write speed is usually less than 1MB/s
First time using it, it tells me it will take days or 16 hours to backup 800gb of data. At the advertised write speed of 120MB/s it should only take a couple hours. I left my first backup running overnight, it's about 1/3 of the way through and still tells me it will be another 16 hours. See the video that shows the write speed usually hovering at less than 1MB/s. The highest it ever got to was almost 20MB/s. This is plugged into USB 3.0, which is capable of speeds over 600MB/s. I think I may have to return this.

Disappointment
This drive did not work out for me. It was defective for sure, it would disconnect and stop running while transferring large files. Eventually it was unreadable on two laptops, which it somehow manages to freeze the laptops and a reboot had to happen. I had a lot of data to transfer and was unable to finish. I was able to format the drive after several attempts so I can return it. I wouldn't recommend it for large data transfer.

Que le service et la satisfaction du client sont des priorités respectées avec Amazon.
Ce produit a été commandé pour servir à y copier et y préserver une grande quantité de photos. Pour une raison inexpliquée il se serait produit une incompatibilité avec mon ordinateur. Une longue session téléphonique avec les techniciens du manufacturier (Seagate) n'a pa résolu le problème. Pourtant des tests et ''scans'' de mon ordinateur (Window10) ainsi que du produit (Seagate) en question ont révélé que les deux fonctionnaient normalement sans aucun problème! La preuve à cela a été que mon ordinateur a fonctionné parfaitement avec d'autres mémoire externes et des USB, et que le Seagate en question a fonctionné parfaitement sur un autre ordinateur! J'ai pu retourner le produit au fournisseur après lui avoir fourni une explication pour la raison du retour.
