Complete waste of money- doesn't even recognize there's a device connected
Charges nothing i own, and with 5 kids we have a lot of things to charge. Complete waste of money- doesn't even recognize there's a device connected. Only thing that works is the light on the back and it's painfully bright, a different placement of the light might be better so you don't have to look at it to turn it on.

Pretty Good for iPhone
I bought and returned another solar phone charger (which I unfavorably reviewed) and then tried this one. I wanted a solar charger for charging my iPhone in remote (high-elevation backpacking) situations-- not for streaming netflix in my tent, but for being able to communicate with family when I could (-: I tried this under various sun conditions, and (compared to the other one) did, indeed power up my phone very well, never up to 100%, but well into the 90%s. It needs to be charged up for a long time (8 hours of sun is best) and positioned such that the sun hits it directly. It is supposed to also be charged up via USB through a computer, but my goal was to use it as a solar charger, so I haven't tried that. Three relatively minor issues that I found: First, I really wish it were smaller than it is. Not too heavy, but a bit bulky, especially for backpacking. I guess it has to have considerable surface area to work effectively. It does have a pretty good flashlight, so you can leave your flashlight at home. The 2nd time I brought it I left my flashlight at home and used this, and it worked fine, but holding it as a flashlight isn't that great (doesn't fit in your hand as well as a typical flashlight). Second, the little LED indicators are supposed to tell you when it's charging, charged, etc. but I found them unreliable. No big deal-- it charges in the sun, and charges the device when it's plugged into it, not really a lot of info anyway. The last issue makes me sound dumb, but the on-off switch is located immediately next to the very bright LED flashlight, so when you turn it on, it's blinding! If you turn it away from you, you can't feel the switch (which is flush with the surface), so you have to put your finger on the switch, THEN turn it away before turning it on, or you flash yourself. I think putting the switch on the side would be better. One other reviewer reported that it loses charge when stored, which it does, but really so do most battery devices these days (including my iPhone). I've used it on three trips now, and it has done fine for iPhone charging.

Neat concept but didn't last nor got used much.
Got this as a gift for my husband four years ago but it rarely got used, mainly because of its size. In the beginning, I thought it was a pretty neat idea but it was very sluggish to charge via sunlight and stopped holding its charge over time, and worst our iPhones started complaining about incompatibility during charge. I paid nearly a hundred bucks based on many reviews so it was unfortunate that we didn't get much out of it. We now just use normal power banks for backup power.

recommended.
I've owned two of these for about 5 years and taken them on our annual camping trips. They've been fairly reliable and still work. We use them to charge up our iPhones and iPads. Leaving them out in the sun all day charges the battery enough to recharge an iPhone from 0% to 100%. iPads require a little more, so we've purchased others for that. Overall, recommended.

Excellent customer service
Had problems with the first one I received, and their customer service was excellent about sending me a new one plus a return shipping label for the first. That replacement had different problems, and to make up for it they sent me two replacements which both work great! I was very impressed with the customer service. The device itself works nicely to keep my cell phone and iPod Touch charged up. Wouldn't charge my Asus Transformer tablet, though, even when it was powered off; I am guessing that this won't put out enough of a current to trigger the charging.

Soar Cell for Emergency Uses
As described....Charges and works well. Tried it out right out of the box when it arrived. Great to keep in your bugout bag, NBC shelter or car in case of TEOTWAWKI or use while hiking/camping/hunting but when I do those things the last thing I want charged is my cell or my Ipod. But I can see where some city folk need to remain connected while taking down that 12 point buck.I bought it since it was a reasonable priced Solar cell charger and all the reviews I read were positive. Can't go wrong with this lttle back up solar charger - JUST IN CASE!

It's a great concept but the execution is terrible
When I returned the first Soladec that quit working after a couple of weeks, I hoped it was just a fluke. I got another and it didn't last a month. I'm returning it and through with this. It's a great concept but the execution is terrible. If you want tech support, good luck. They still haven't responded to my email from the first one and it has been a month. There's no phone number listed for support, but if you go to the company's web site, you see that you would have to call Korea. I'd love this if it worked.
