You have to really stand on this thing to make it switch on or off. Maybe that's a safety feature, but I wanted to use it in my office under my desk to turn a small heater on and off. It's not good for that. You can still operate it with your foot in that position, but not very easily. Maybe mine is not right, but it's very stiff.Also it's very loud, so every time I would switch it on or off people would look to see what just happened. It sounds like I just broke something every time I operate the switch.It's probably great for tools in a garage or something like that. Just not good for my intended use.I bought an electronic switch instead that connects to my wireless network and uses an iPhone app to operate (I could operate my office heater from across the country if I wanted!). It's way overkill for what I needed but at least it's quiet. Also, the new switch has a programmable timer which is actually kind of nice for a heater so it worked out ok.In summary, buy this switch for your garage... not for your office.

The cord is pretty stiff so it takes a few tries to get the pedal to stay on the floor where you want it. The worse thing about it is the fact that if you look close, you will see a rivet about 1" back from the front on the side. That is the pivot point. So to turn this thing off, you have to have your foot at the very front edge and click hard. Why it don't teeter toter in the center is beyond me. But after a while its quite irritating.I use this on my tile saw so its always on a hard surface so if this thing was on anything softer than cement, forget about clicking it off.

So far, I just LOVE this foot pedal. I use it to power a homemade recirculating bathing system in my grooming salon. It's very sturdy and easy to use. I just might decide to purchase another one to power my clipper vacuum system in the very near future.

I used this foot switch to turn a pump on and off in my homebrew setup. It works flawlessly and is much better than trying to unplug the pump every time I want to stop it. It's well made from steel not plastic. Actually a lot smaller than I thought it would be but I love it.
